They surely could have licensed the Mondo poster (Drafthouse has before)

The only piece of original art out of the bunch and it's absolutely nothing.

I was actually very partial to
the theatrical poster and just assumed they'd reuse that as serviceable enough. Ah well, at least it's out in timely fashion.

To be fair, The Lure's cover was only just made for the Janus tour

Was hoping for something new with Barry Lyndon. It's a cool poster I guess.

Still can't believe my eyes seeing Barry Lyndon with the C on it.

That Mondo poster for Personal Shopper is fine, but I honestly don't think it suits the film whatsoever. "Feeling"-wise, I understand the Criterion cover far more, but I'm wholly indifferent to it all the same.
I'd like the Mondo poster and the Criterion cover better if either one had managed to tie in an abstract, Hilma af Klint influence or concept.

If they just used the theatrical poster that Ribs posted with Olivier Assayas' credit and a wacky-C that would've been a lot better.

Just about any promotional image that was used for the film is more interesting and attractive than Criterion's cover.

With Criterion's The Lure and Arrow Academy's Zoology covers revealed on the same day, I guess it's been "a tailed Eastern European lady in a tub" day...

Oh wow what a month!!! Vampyr, Barry Lyndon and FWWM!! And excellent that they used the old artwork! Let's hope that the package for Vampyr will be similar to the dvd one

I agree re: the Mondo poster, it totally ignores the tone of the film and of that scene in particular, which is chilly and imbued with loneliness and isolation. While I was no fan of the film, using that poster as the cover would have done it a serious disservice, it's pretty damn terrible in every respect other than the quality of the illustration.
The cover that Criterion went with grows on me every time I see it. It's a striking image and feels like the correct typeface for it.

Anyone have any word / thoughts on the Barry Lyndon packaging come October?
Hoping for something akin to Blow Up for this, being an event release for many.

Got the Before Trilogy and the Marseille Trilogy last week. They now sit next to each other on a shelf, looking very nice ... except: the Marseille Trilogy boxset is a little shorter than the Before Trilogy boxset! Doesn't Criterion have a strict standard on such thing as the height of boxsets?

Tell that to the del Toro trilogy.

It might seem silly, and I admit I don't care so much about this, but it always surprised me to see that a collection so focused on "homogeneity" would not even be able to output a standard height for boxsets and stick to it. If you take Moonrise Kingdom, Mulholland Dr and Dont Look Back, they're not even 20 spines apart and yet, Criterion managed to have MD being slightly shorter than the other 2.

So true. And don't get me started on randomness of spine number allocation or the box itself getting a number. I had to leave my OCD at the door a long time ago with Criterion.

I don't even care what the cover looks like. What size the box is. None of that. Do I have poor/low standards?
