Sorry, disqualified due to insufficient capitalization.

All right, no more revisions for those in the picks competition

Would be quite an upset if anyone other than Campion wins for Directing but perhaps Power of the Dog isn't quite as popular among the Academy as suspected. And if she loses out tonight, I hope it's to Spielberg, who, by most people's reckoning, has made his best film in many years but he also has his own Oscar-winning record working against him, and the Academy might feel that if it is not Campion, then someone other than Spielberg. I'd not be surprised if they go with Kenneth Branagh for Best Director: like Del Toro, he is well-liked in the industry and there may be enough members not liking Power of the Dog but liking Belfast. Would be nice if either Cruz or Stewart prevails over Jessica Chastain's make-up but who are we kidding; with the Academy, it's either actors buried under make-up or playing a real person.

I’d happily see Branagh take director if it means PTA wins screenplay. If picks were still open to change, I’d put Spielberg for director, and Campion for adapted screenplay. But I’d probably be wrong on both.

Apparently Sean Penn (yes, I know) will "smelt" his Oscars if Zelenskiy isn't invited to speak at the awards. How does it not occur to the likes of Penn and Schumer that Zelenskiy has more pressing things to consider right now?

Yeah, the incredible vanity that Zelenskiy would even be thinking about an American movie awards ceremony right now, about making a plea for the lives of his people in between Amy Schumer's baggy pussy jokes. I'd rather he just get some sleep if he can.

Penn was actually in Ukraine when the fighting started. This is a silly threat, but he’s seen the conflict firsthand, so I can’t really make fun of him for caring. I’d probably be saying whatever I could to do something about it too if I had a platform like his

If I’m remembering what I read a couple of days ago (big if), my impression was not that he wanted the Oscars to invite Zelensky but that he’d be upset if Zelensky wanted to speak and the network denied him airtime. And you can imagine why Zelensky would use any platform available (especially one with the international reach the Oscars still have) to rally support for the cause.

That's fair. Not that Disney/ABC would have contemplated that for a minute.

I’m not going to do full predictions, but let me just throw it out there that I have this very strange hunch that Drive My Car will win Best Adapted Screenplay but somehow lose Best International Feature in an upset victory for The Worst Person in the World.

What a weiiirrrrddd White Men Can't Jump reunion! Like, in the first place, "why"? But even past that, did they opt to get the writers of Bongwater for the "jokes" this year?
