Fellow Americans my Late Mizoguchi set numbered 57 has arrived slightly dented on the bottom corners but otherwise in good shape.

I'm delighted to report that I've received my copy #0013!

Though slightly outdone by Mr. Kaplan's lucky number 13, I have just received number 21 in Tennessee. In person, this set has even more-so the air a precious object.

Now I feel so utterly humiliated by my 124, I'll probably not even be able to bear watching the other 7 films in the set. Good thing I watched Oyu-sama before I realized how crummy my number was.

I'm in the same boat as you, waiting for my Amazon order to arrive in Pittsburgh. The estimated delivery date is today, though I'm not holding my breath, because UK packages seem to consistently take two weeks to reach my doorstep. I haven't been home since early this morning, so I'll certainly update you if I find that it has been delivered.

The atmosphere in this thread is reminiscent of kids tracking Santa Claus on Christmas Eve.

Surprisingly, I have 3 separate dispatches, which are all dispatched on the same date, but have different expected delivery dates. For me, the delivery date for this distach is Nov 14.
You are right, usually they take 2 weeks. There are exceptions also. I got Runaway Train from Arrow directly in 4 days!
let's just hope we get our edition numbers on the back cover of the box, apparently there are some with no numbers

I'm getting a little nervous, my James Dean set arrived crushed, but the shipping box was pretty much unscathed. Fingers crossed...

Edit: Should have knocked on wood instead. Sending mine back, too dented up on the bottom (including the booklet).

The Mizoguchi box is much sturdier than the Dean box. I received both and the Mizoguchi was fine, but the Dean was crushed.

Still no luck here on the east coast US (Eureka order).

Arrived in California from Eureka today. #40. Only one dented corner. Naked photos of me tenderly holding box to follow.

Arrived in Los Angeles today from Eureka. 1 dented corner, scuffs on the booklet spine, but otherwise pristine and totally gorgeous. Love the gridded typography on the back cover.

Arrived in Atlanta. I am floored by how gorgeous this set looks. Very well done MoC.

Arrived in Connecticut. As everyone is saying, it's a beautiful box set, with an incredible book.

The corrugated used for shipping these is way too frickin' soft. One corner in particular looked pretty scary coming out of the mailbox.

Fortunately, the slipcase was not crushed, though one spine corner has a slight bump with a 1" split in the paper but no structural damage, and you can see 1/16" worth of corner bump on the book as a result. There's an additional 1/2" split at one of the open corners which did allow the box sides to separate if you're looking for it, but it's not evident to the naked eye.

My goodness, we're being anal about this one! And I'm only taking the trouble to describe this because the rest of you are doing it. However, as careful as I am with all such things of mine, I'm quite sure that if I examined every item in the collection, I'd find many examples of all of this, and worse. Even on some of those items I've hand-picked for myself at a store. So, all things in perspective. This is gorgeous, and it is SUCH a pleasure to have another "real" slipcase box in the collection. They should always be made of firm cardboard. It just makes a world of difference.

Oh yeah. #0455/2000. Doesn't matter to me. The only two numbers I'd be truly ecstatic to receive are #1 or #2000, and I must confess I was rather hoping against hope for the latter.

Is MoC sending the numbered box sets in strict numerical order according to when the order was placed or is it random? If they were all pre-wrapped in cardboard at the printer, they would have no way of knowing which number they are shipping. I find it surprising that they would already have sold nearly 500 copies. At this point, an unnumbered set might be the true collector's item (I forgot to check which number I got and the box set it at home at present).

I didn't place my order til they initially tweeted that they were going to sell-out on pre-order, and I got #27. So I doubt the box number corresponds with order placement.
