Just a heads up for anyone outside the U.S. All Warner archive discs can be bought from TCM/Movies Unlimited.

Not all. White Shadows in the South Seas is just one they don't have.

Movies Unlimited and Deep Discount add these titles 3 months after they are announced at Warner Archives store, so expect White Shadows in the South Seas around April.

"Ripley's Believe It or Not'' set is now available for pre-order.

Fantastic, I can now order Party Girl.

But no Dogville shorts on the list.
I've been after this for ages, and I won't pay silly ebay prices.

Someone in the Movies on TV thread said Show People is available through the Warner Archive, but hell if I can find it. Are they lying?

Perhaps just confused. They may have meant Vidor's THE PATSY also with Davies. And also excellent.

You're right. I was thinking of the Vidor-Davies The Patsy. However, it looks like there's an Italian sourced bootleg floating around the internet.

I do remember seeing a couple Vidor silents in the archives, but maybe other than "The Patsy" it was just "Wild Oranges."

Sorry to tell you now, but it aired on TCM Sunday. :( I still have it on my DVR…

EDIT: The third Vidor silent was La Bohème.

Has anyone seen The Flight of the Dragons who can comment on the DVD picture quality. I'd like to know before I buy it for my girlfriend.

Haven't seen it, but here's a review from DVD Verdict.

To save you the time of reading the whole (mostly negative) review of the movie, here's what the reviewer says about the PQ:
The video is a touch dark and, while there's some dust and grain present, it's a decent transfer. The audio is also standard stereo, a little on the hollow sounding side, but free of hisses or distortion. At 15 bucks, it's definitely overpriced, but it's as good as fans of the film will get, and in truth, it's adequate.

Coupon code "WELCOME09" still works and knocks off an additional $5.

Has any non-US resident experienced any problems getting WB to ship within the US (to a friend) but using a credit card registered outside the US? I think I recall reading that's possible.

I know there are other sources for the Archive but I can't see them coming near these prices and, much as I dislike this program, I'm tempted by a couple of the shorts sets which I accept would never have been issued as retail sets.

I didn't realize that they'd started doing full cover art instead of that template design they used previously. That's a step in the right direction.

If they start releasing factory pressed DVDs, the only thing left to complain about will be the price!

I have fussed about Warner Archive since it's inception and swore I'd never give them my money. And then one day I saw Mervyn LeRoy's Two Seconds with Edward G Robinson on TCM. My next discovery was finding it in the Archive. I've tried like the devil to avoid it. But then along comes "Buy 5 for $55" and you guys provide me with a code for another $5 off and next thing I know, I've placed an order. Damn you Edward G! And you too LeRoy!

So, as a rookie at this, what should be the first 5 titles I buy? Tourner's Witchita and Lang's Rancho Notorious are the only ones that I have on my definite list.

Jack Webb's The D.I.
