since it's best "foreign language film" now, i'm surprised Cameron didn't bitch about not being nominated for it too.

isnt cinematography showing stuff well avatar showed stuff

Also not much to care here (is there anything to care for?) but they managed to give the award to best short animated film to the worst one, but it's really complete trash. The film doesn't even make sense, it's just "here, a world made of logos. Now here's a bunch of clichés and voila". They had previously failed to even nominate the good ones.

I was really hoping we'd get to see Michael Haneke speak. UGH. Looking back on tonight's awards, was there any reason to watch?

These fuckers with cutting off the winners need to be kicked in the throat. you can show fucking interpretive dance for 10 minutes, but not give them 90 seconds on the biggest day of their careers?!??!?

Nice to see that the Foreign Language Film category maintains its near-perfect track record

Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin have been pretty funny. I especially liked how they sneaked a horse joke in before introducing Sarah Jessica Parker ;)

While there is never any clear cut winner, I think if you knew the work involved in Avatar you would be amazed. My feeling on Basterds however was that Richardson's work has become kind of dull, as that film felt quite flat to me.

But could you distinguish between the cinematographer's and art director's work and the CGI guys? I couldn't--same with "Dr. Parnassus," to be fair.

Oh no, this dick-sucking instead of just showing a clip from the film again. They haven't nixed this after last year's snoozefest?!

I did and it's really good, I mean, it's not Haneke, it's not auteur but it's very good.

I can't believe they're doing these verbal handjobs for the acting nominees again. They're worse than any bad joke, montage, or fucking dance number they could come up with.
