I do have to wonder if WB plan to release Barry Lyndon themselves or are just not giving the UHD rights to Criterion. I’d expect it to have been upgraded now otherwise. That’s just me though. The New World is another one you’d expect to get the UHD upgrade, although their Blu-ray release was already quite good, and I wonder how many would upgrade given the multiple cuts would make it a very costly UHD package.

Isn't Pandora's Box the same old Hugh Hefner funder restoration from years ago? Digital master for that is only 2K, as far as I know, so don't expect a UHD release. I've had the German BD release for a few years now and the new trailers don't look much different from what I can remember it looking. Strange that both Criterion and Eureka! are releasing it now almost at the same time. Did the Germans block its international release before?

Eureka does indeed specify it’s a 2K restoration on their site.

Yes, I meant the Bonello. Also, the official Kubrick account has posted about a 4K Barry Lyndon, so I hope that's true.

The account links to the current Barry Lyndon Criterion release, which is already a New 4K digital restoration, with uncompressed monaural soundtrack. So, while the existing restoration makes a future UHD release likely, the post is not necessarily an indication of anything immediately forthcoming.

My first guess is that to celebrate the box coming out, the other titles for November are going to be big.
