That whole package for The Big City is just terrible. No inside cover image, red disc with boring white text, repeat of the cover for the booklet - lazy job.
I do really like the Charulata cover, but the rest is boring. Not sure why they decided to change the font/color for the spine, which is a shame.

I think you have to see Big City in person to appreciate the color of the ink, it's sort of metallic and didnt come across in photographs but I really liked it when I got it

I agree with Moe on Big City. They used metallic ink and it looks better in hand, but the overall designs for both are disappointing.

Isn't that in keeping with the 'red dot' bindi theme of the cover though?

I've noticed Criterion has updated many of its film pages to give credit to cover art designers.

Is it Seth or a Sam Smith imitation thereof?

Why does it say CITY LIGHTS on Chaplin's hat? I don't remember that in the movie. Did the Tramp start making ends meet by selling ad space on his hat?

I actually like the new Chaplin cover a lot- though I wish they'd finally get around to having Kate Beaton do one.

I legit feel like any teenager in freshman art class could have made a better City Lights cover
