The Naked Prey is wonderful, and certainly under-seen/under-appreciated. Maybe Criterion's best DVD-only transfer, too.

Nope. I merge all the voting threads into the Suggestions and General Discussion thread, but the results always get lost when that happens.

I'm voting for Ivan the Terrible just because it will force me to finally see it. Silence is a great movie, but has been discussed to death everywhere. Secret Honor and The Naked Prey are excellent too, but don't necessarily strike me as meaty enough for prolonged discussion.

Ivan is amazing, it became one of my favorite movies of all time instantly upon my first viewing. These movies are all ones I would love to discuss, obviously, but let's just say that if I'd only been able to pick one that would be it.

Looks like the frontrunners have appeared.

Anybody want to try to sway my vote? I'm currently going for Four Feathers, but that doesn't appear likely to win. I've been meaning to rewatch Ivan for quite some time now, but I also just picked up Secret Honor during the flash sale, so it'll be on my to-watch list anyway.

The Four Feathers is a fine film, but I didn't find it particularly profound. I'm tempted to switch my vote to Ivan...but we shall see.

I was for Four Feathers at first, since it's the only one I haven't seen, but switched to Secret Honor. I like Ivan, but I don't think I could watch all of it again and have anything substantially new to contribute.

Without knowing anything about it, I initially voted for Four Feathers, since it was in my vast to-watch pile. But then I actually watched the movie and charitably I can only say that 4F was very much not my kind of film.
If we're going to discuss a terrible film, let's make it Ivan!

Haha I like The Four Feathers but it's in a very specific mode- I think the interesting discussion would be more about the colonialist ideals that it represents than anything it intentionally displays.

To Naked Prey?

I'd vote for Send Me No Flowers but it's not one of the choices, or a Criterion release

You know Domino, in some ways you and I are very different people.

MC Skat Kat in the '80s or now? Because those are two very different things.

Well, The Four Feathers is also full of fuzzy-wuzzies, a couple of square dances, and the memory of a large fruit leading a charge in the Crimea against some Russian nuts ...

Still waiting for that last 4F vote to peel off.

Still baffled by the idea that someone, somewhere, doesn't want to talk about representations of colonialism. Next somebody's not going to want to discuss the male gaze, sheesh.

I first saw The Naked Prey as a kid, about a year or two after it was released. It scared the crap out of me, more so than any of the monster/horror movies I'd seen until then or even for years thereafter. Some of the horrific images still disturb all these years later.

In the event of a tie, I will act as the tie breaker by extending the vote time slightly and recasting my own vote. As this will (always) mean abandoning the one I most want to win, my tie-breakers at least won't be motivated by brazen self-interest (especially since I rarely ever vote for one that doesn't end up in either first or second place, so the one chosen will always be the one I want to lose).

No tie-breaker needed: Secret Honor it is!

Four Feathers would have been more timely -- what with the new Crimean War and all. Not sure I'd have much to say about Secret Honor if I rewatched it. But maybe the discussion will spur me to dig it out. Was hoping for I the T.
