If Criterion puts out War and Peace on Blu, they can release 10,000 more Border Radios as far as I'm concerned.

I'm also hoping that for Dovzhenko it means a release of his Ukraine Trilogy; Zvenigora, Arsenal and Earth. Zvenigora has never been released in R1.

Dovzhenko on Blu? Hell yes.
So glad I got the much talked
10-DVD collection dedicated to the director. One of the best sets out there.

Toshiro Uratani
Masayuki Suo
Akira Nakao
The first two seem to be for Itami release supplements. Both directors made making-of documentaries for Itami films. Uratani made one for Tampopo and he also directed a Itami documentary that was aired on Japanese television in 2007. Suo made making-of documentaries for A Taxing Woman 1 and 2.
Nakao appeared in Itami's MinbĂ´.

This is very good news indeed. Presumably it is for the same title as MOC, though I hope they throw Rain in the Mountains too. Now there just needs a Tsai page for me to explode with joy.

Restored A Touch of Zen?
The collection needs some more Korean, Chinese and Taiwanese films.

So is the last name.
Director for Making of "Daibyonin" which is...Itami's 1993 film The Last Dance (Daibyonin).

Almost certainly Milestone's
Of Mice and Men and Guthrie's
Oedipus Rex. Corinth has the U.S. rights to both. They have a close relationship with Janus and licensed
8 1/2,
Bicycle Thieves, and
I Vitelloni. Like those three titles,
Of Mice and Men and
Oedipus Rex were originally released on DVD by Image.

What's the deal with
this page listed immediately after those for McCabe and Mrs. Miller for "Brando, Marlon"? Just a genuine, very odd mistake?

Given the recent One-Eyed Jacks restoration and Criterion already releasing a film from Brando's Burn!/Quemedia director Gillo Pontecorvo, I'm optimistic that more is in the pipeline...

But Brando already has
his own page, so the phantom page Ribs linked to is an oddity.

Wyler! Now there's a tantalizing prospect (assuming it's not a title already out on Blu-Ray that Criterion is reissuing, now that that's a thing). Fingers crossed for Detective Story or Roman Holiday

by The Narrator Returns
Based on Paramount apparently having a fire sale with their acclaimed comedies, this is most likely either Ferris Bueller's Day Off or Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (it's probably not The Breakfast Club since Universal just rereleased it, and I imagine Criterion is saving Curly Sue like a fine wine).

Jack Arnold-The Incredible Shrinking Man
Howard Hughes- The Outlaw or Hell's Angels

Ah Curly Sue - the film in which James Belushi is repeatedly hit over the head with a bat by his cute 10 year old moppet accomplice in order to fake getting knocked down by reversing cars!
How about a Sixteen Candles/Pretty In Pink double release? It would be wonderful to get some Molly Ringwald into the collection, even if it isn't The Breakfast Club!
(Though of course I have my fingers crossed for Weird Science too! 8-[ )

Saw Detective Story sort of recently for the first time - was not expecting the proto-Barney Miller squadroom. A pleasing aspect.

I figure Godard's
King Lear will mark Ringwald's Criterion debut.
Robert Zemeckis
