Wait, you changed your vote to The Naked Prey? That's gotta have nearly as much fodder for a discussion of colonial representation as The Four Feathers!

I assumed we'd just be discussing Cornel Wilde's thighs

Looking forward to discussing Nixon's views on colonialism.

Well, I'm certainly still excited. If anyone still wants to do Ivan, though, we're perfectly free to.

All good choices, but Kanal and Col Blimp are the ones likely to make my list so I'm torn between the two. And everyone already loves Col Blimp, so... Kanal it is!

Been meaning to watch Forbidden Games for a long time, so that'll get my vote.

I'm certainly happy to see that we're treating the Cold War as a war. I love The Spy Who Came In From the Cold, but I've really been dying to revisit Col Blimp, so that's what's getting my vote.

The eligible films were simply taken from this page.

Looks like we're going Cold War for this one.

I feel like Straw Dogs will spark the most interesting debate, especially after people listen to the commentary.

I voted for Tess, as I've only really liked Chinatown, and am looking for an excuse to pick it up, but would change to Straw Dogs if it was between SD and something else.

I love Straw Dogs, but I've discussed it at length either on this board or an earlier incarnation, plus I don't know that I have much to add to Stephen Prince's commentary. So I'm going with Tess.

Ditto what Sausage says. Straw Dogs is a great film that has been discussed to death everywhere already. I haven't even seen Tess yet and there's a beautiful new release just waiting for us to dive into.

Unfortunately I don't think there will be much to discuss for Tess.

Can I ask why you say that? I really am wondering what to expect from the film.

It's an okay film, very pretty, but content wise it doesn't offer much. It's a pretty straight adaptation of the work with only Hardy's surface interests present (though I suppose the book is his most surface work).

I voted for Loves of Blonde (and it's now running quite strong!). It's a great, great film that definitely needs more attention. Try it, you'll love it.

Well, if there's no hope for Tess, and especially if it looks like Straw Dogs is only winning by a hair, I'll probably change my vote to the Forman film.

The Foreman was my second choice, so if Tess is that unpromising as discussion fodder, I'll change my vote to the former.

Well that took a turn quite quickly. Haven't seen any Czech new wave, so if Loves wins, no complaints here.

My last few votes have gone to films I hadn't seen, but once I watched them I found I didn't have much to say. So I'm gonna go with Loves of a Blonde or Straw Dogs this time around
