I recently watched Savage Messiah for the first time a couple of months ago and it quickly became an all time favorite. I have rewatched it twice since and would be an incredible addition alongside The Devils.

I always think, even after all these years, they love to seize on the chance to redo things they had laserdisc rights to - which would mean Unbearable Lightness would be option 1. New owners, though, so maybe those days are over.

A couple years back Geoege Feltenstein mentioned on a podcast that both Kaufmann and Criterion wanted to do Unbearable Lightness of Being. I don't know if WB's new distribution deal with the Saul Zaentz Company allows them to sublicense titles or not. (Maybe Bill Hint was right and Criterion was going to do Amadeus before such a restriction was uncovered.)

Hoping that either WB or Criterion finally release on 4K the long out of circulation At Play in the Fields of the Lord.

Love seeing the love for this film. Russell made many films about artists, but this one is his best. The central scene of Scott Antony as Gaudier (underrated performance) working and sweating away on his sculpture while delivering a monologue which cuts through much of the bullshit that is associated with artists and their motivations is probably my favorite scene in any Russell film. The WA DVD is very muddy-looking/sounding. Time for a proper release of this great film.

I'd like to add Mahler to the Russell rescue request list.

Please let Fall of Otrar happen. Mulvaney hit me to the chance the disc might be a 4K when I reached out about it getting a release.

I thought I was the only one who was a fan of Jack Clayton’s Our Mother’s House, a film that never got the attention it deserved.

Would also love to see Joseph Losey’s These are the Damed in the collection. I believe’s it’s with Sony.

I can't remember the last Friday they did announcements on. Seems to always get pushed to Monday now.

The Criterion Collection web person just quiet quit. SMDH.

They’ve done announcements on Fridays. I believe the last 15th that fell in a Friday we had announcements. There is no hard and fast rule for Fridays

This late in the day, though, bodes poorly. I reckon it’s possible, but I wouldn’t bet the parlay on it
