It would be great if they also include Elem Klimov's
documentary about Shepitko. Of those 8 films, only 4 are feature films. They may as well include
Farewell. She was killed during pre-production and her husband finished it.

Wonderful news!
This and the Rossellini are going to be essential purchases.

This gives me hopes that Criterion will try to release other directors' TV work via Eclipse, most of which has never been seen since originally airing. So many possibilities, and outside of not selling very well, the costs of transferring the tape masters probably wouldn't be too cost-prohibitive so that it wouldn't take much to recoup.

Last blog update was 18 April. That's almost a month.
Guess the "Salo"
cover has kept everyone at Criterion busy.

Shit, a year ago this chic didn't know who Fassbinder was. Good job, you've done your homework.

Soon we’ll be rolling out both fresh and familiar titles in the new high-capacity hotness, with new branding (meaning, I’m sure, new shelving in my living room!).
Different spines?

"branding" would seem to indicate the Wacky B logo to me, not spine numbers.

I think the subtext of her piece is, while there is coming a shiny new Blu-Ray line, alongside the ongoing SDVD catalogue, it all comes down to the films, which remain the same on whatever format... So they expect to maintain both for quite some time to come...

Ophuls meets Harold and Kumar: gotta love Tamara. What do you guys think she looks like? I'm picturing a Jenna Fischer type, but that's probably too cliche....

I'm wishing Tina Fey, I'm guessing Janeane Garofalo.

Curtis Tsui on meeting and working with Anthony Mann's daughter, Nina.
Too bad Curtis didn't give us the full list of Paramount titles.
Also, Nina Mann looks like Judy Dench.

It also looks like Criterion is dipping their toes in creating web exclusive features/content.

They should be offering their films by digital download, like Amazon unbox. Not only is it inevitable, but it would let them capitalize on more of their titles before bluray takes over the market.

I don't think there's any rush, Criterion has plenty of time before Hell freezes over

I actually laughed at this one. Good job.

It's funny because it's true.
