My thoughts exactly. Why would Sony left out the extras from the original disc? Who made that decision? I'm keeping my disc.

It is strange looking at the comparisons between the Optimum and Sony Women on the Verge of A Nervous Breakdown, the Sony looks sharper, but also looks to be heavily cropped on three sides and with only a sliver more picture on the righthand side.

That bonus disc sounds great, but I can't justify rebuying all of the films just for that! Instead I put my money towards the two disc of Volver and finally getting the Optimum Almodóvar Volume 1 set!

Got an email from Amazon saying they just shipped the set out to me at the $23.99 price point. Very cool.

I'm still kicking myself for not getting in on the deal of the year. Oh well, it's still a pretty good value for the money, even if I have to find a home for my Talk to Her standalone.

The set is still priced at $20.97 on Columbia House, if you are a member. Some people have reported receiving shipping notifications from there.

I ordered the set from Best Prices in early December for $26 and received my shipping notice this morning.

Just ordered from Columbia DVD Club, $31 total with shipping....let's see if I get it.

Shit, go figure that this is the only time I'd ever think of returning to Columbia House's claws. For members, I would offer $50 shipped if you could tack on an extra order (and if it gets through without them cancelling, something tells me they are less customer friendly than Amazon).

I need to complete my Almodovar Collection now, anyone have a preference between the R2 and R4 versions of the following:

Kika
What Have I Done To Deserve This? (R1, R2, R4)
Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!
Pepi, Luci, Bom
Dark Habits
High Heels

I can't find any comparisons online.

Your welcome.

I just received mine today. Will be having an Almodovar marathon this weekend.

The Bits are reporting a 4/3 street date for Volver. I bet Sony is taking this long to get it out just to see if it will win any Oscars and change the DVD cover accordingly.

I wonder if the US edition will have 2 discs like the all the european editions seem to be getting.

The Almodovar Collection is $26.24 at Tower.com (as of this morning).

What would happen if they correct the price after a purchase? Will they charged you the correct amount, or just assume the lost?

That's usually only a concern with pre-orders when a retailer has a long time to correct a price mistake. This is in stock, so any orders should be processed quickly. I don't think it would be legal for them to demand anyone pay above and beyond the price on the site after a transaction has already been made.

Thanks Greg. I'm buying at least 5 of those bitches.

But the product page states that it's a 4 PK (sic) set. Is this the real 9 disker one or a different boxset? I know that the release date of this product coincides but nothing else seems to.

Is the same set. In fact, is the only Almodovar set in region 1 camp. Colombia House also has the same price.

Yea, it's gotta be the same one, and the pricing is quite obviously because Tower thinks it's a 4-disc set. I just ordered, so let's hope it ships quick -- Tower "reserves the right" to correct "pricing mistakes" even after orders are placed.

What about after shipping?

Well, I ordered mine too (unbelievable deal -- I got it for roughly €28 which is the bargain of the month!) and I really hope it goes ok. Let's wait and see.
