Yeesh! Kristyn Caddell looks like a parody of a female news reporter. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if she showed up on Parks & Rec as Joan Callamezzo's rival.

James Spader's the new boss on the Office (sort of?) and, NBC showed some common sense and will be airing Community and Parks and Rec back to back this fall!

It was a special that was picked up as a series. It all seemed to happen very quickly and I'm admittedly not sure about the ins and outs.

Yeah, the history itself (which admittedly is often quite interesting, and to the show's credit is usually a lot more than "the Gadsen Purchase, bitches!") is over pretty quickly, but I watch for all of local eccentrics they find to illustrate their various points. They've nailed States I've actually lived in. The guy in Montana who is trying to get around federal firearms laws by building his own machine guns at home. The survivalist food ration stores in suburban Utah. Classic stuff.

Re: Emmys-- Ecstatic about the noms for FNL and Justified. Not surprised at the Community snub. How do you not nominate Nick Offerman? More importantly, how does Modern Family keep sweeping acting noms?

Yeah, the noms for Justified were very pleasing to see, especially Margo Martindale's.

Not sure if anyone else cares, but I'll be in mild mourning.

I was hooked on the first season when Saving Grace was the lead-in, but for whatever reason never really was interested in the 2nd.

I know they were a sponsor for a while, but Marc Maron seemed to genuinely love the show, and it always looked really solid to me. I guess like so many other cancelled series, now would be a good time for me to finally hunker down and watch.

It's easily the best thing that Romano has done since Dr. Katz.

It's too early to call it a trend, but the debut of Teen Nick's 'THE 90'S ARE ALL THAT' block (post-midnight repeats of "Keenan & Kel," "All That," "Clarissa Explains It All," etc.) scored some pretty impressive ratings on its Monday debut. Me? Until they rotate "The Secret World of Alex Mack" (my favorite show of all time) I couldn't care less.

Hopefully this convinces Paramount to continue putting these shows out on DVD, especially the sadly absent The Adventures of Pete and Pete Volume 3.

Some good news for the Canadians on the board. FX Canada launches in November. The channel will initially only air shows that aren't already licensed to other Canadian channels. As licensing agreements expire, shows will migrate to FX Canada.

Now if Comedy Central/Fox could only work out a deal with Futurama, so I don't have to feel like a total ass for having to torrent the new Comedy Central series. (I don't think Futurama is available in the UK either for similar reasons.)

Despite the ads all over the place, Showtime's Homeland actually looks very good.

Emmy winners list. Really happy Margo Martindale won, but not surprised.

Nice to see Kyle Chandler win an Emmy for the role of a lifetime in "Friday Night Lights" on the last year of eligibility (although it came at the expense, yet again, of Jon Hamm and Michael C. Hall being robbed for lead actor Emmys they should have tag-team won for the past four years).

Uhhhhh if you'd ever seen Bryan Cranston on Breaking Bad for five minutes you'd bite your tongue.

Or just that monologue last night. That's a hell of a way to subvert audience expectations.

Michael C. Hall and Dexter would definitely win the best continual use of voiceover award though, narrowly edging out whatever miniseries Morgan Freemen happens to be in each year.

I'm two seasons in and avoiding spoilers everywhere. The movies could learn from this show. I'm ready to say it's better than or equal to anything that's ever been on tv, including The Sopranos.
