My big problem with Arrow's website is that items aren't removed from my cart after I purchase them. As a result, I ended up buying two copies of the Rivette set and three of the Yoshida after seeing them in my cart and thinking I forgot to finalize the transaction.

And they also say they're expecting it to be in stock by the end of the week.
I'm interested to find out if the individual releases are also going to have slim cases. Also think it's interesting this features no reversible artwork but I'd guess that's because this set features numerous discs that have multiple films on it.
I am also loving how long the list of special features on the back of the box is.

I welcome this development. It's always seemed a little silly for the cases to take up as much space as they do for several of these Arrow boxed sets.

Absolutely. It takes an incredibly big shelf space, especially for sets like Battles without honor or humanity which have so many movies (thus so many individual cases).swo17 wrote:I welcome this development. I hate digipaks. The hard, brittle plastic trays (polystyrene?) typically have death grips on the disc and can crack the hubs. NO digipaks, always use SOFT PLASTIC.

Following this first glimpse, I went to have a look on Arrow's webstore and the boxset is now showing as In Stock, so I guess dispatches should be starting very soon.

I remember after BFI's Werner Herzog set came out, I was waiting to see if anyone noticed the extra work I did on FITZCARRALDO (re-doing the video generated opening titles to stand in for the original optical ones, with chromatic aberration and wobble and other effects to disguise that they're video generated). To this date I don't think anyone did, a ton of the discussion was about the cardboard packaging it came in!

Well I watched it at the time and nothing stood out to me, which I suppose means that you did your job well! Then again, I think I'd only seen the film once before, so I'm likely not the best judge. How's that for a compliment?

Specs are up at cineoutsider. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but all the audio commentaries are by Australians and were originally issued by Madman about 5 years ago. Most of the extras were also included. I haven't seen the 1978 interview so PETRA is good for an upgrade. The antitheater extra due for LOVE IS COLDER should be interesting too.
