Another sublime example would be Louis Malle & Andre Gregory's Uncle Vanya on 42nd Street. Not just an example of a film capturing life and theatre but of a director going out in top form.

I've never seen it thanks to the OOP R1. Is there an alternative in another region?

Looks like there's still an Italian edition available. I've settled for making a copy of a library VHS edition.
