Peter O'Toole suffers mistaken nationality more than Harris. However, Scotsmen and women are generally referred to as British actors. And Richard Burton was Welsh, though I have never seen him referred to a Welsh actor.

Then take a look at the extras on the R2 release of Zulu. Apparently, Burton agreed to serve as narrator not simply as a favor to his friend Stanley Baker (another actor who revelled in his Welsh-ness) but also because of the Welsh connection. (Though technically, the regiment defending Rorke's Drift did not become officially "Welsh" until a couple of years after the attack.) There's also the Dylan Thomas Under Milkwood film.

Looks like someone bought the shack and hauled it away.

This is interesting... there's a more detailed exercise mapping locations of L'AVVENTURA especially and matching photos to frames, returning to the island of Lisca Bianca in 1983, recorded in MA: Architecture in Vision by Mancini & Perella... Also revisits locations of L'ECLISSE and NETEZZA URBANA, and maps the larger journeys of all the films... Also includes frame by frame sequence of Monica Vitti and a solar eclipse, shot in 1961, never edited partially because it was filmed in summer...

Did anyone find out whether or not the audio DNR is present in the original master used for the Red Desert dvd (the Madman one that's been discussed) - ChrisW still around?

If the audio tweaking is or is not present in the master, is that something that might be corrected in the BFI disc that's supposedly coming this year (if we can dare speculate...)?

And who owns the R1 rights at this point (is there an easy way to find this out for any given movie, or is IMDB the only option)?

Image did own the rights (their DVD went out of print), so there's always the possibility that Criterion owns them. They may just be searching for suitable film elements to transfer (or, basically, what's going on with La Notte)

This film, along with Visconti's The Leopard, would be my prime candidates for Criterion Blu Ray versions.

My two would be Solaris and Andrei Rublev (a new transfer, of course)... but I think they should put out Blu versions of all applicable titles.
