And could we please ditch the Evan Rachel Wood character? The "Hell hath no fury like a vampire queen broke" line gave me major douchechills [awful] and I was stunned to see that more than one of my Facebook friends saw fit to make it their status. Yikes.

I agree with both of those observations.

I liked the mini-docu that aired before the episode and their very sensible decision to make werewolves actually be, y'know...wolves. I'm cool with most of the wolfman style hybrids, from Chaney, Jr up to David Naughton, but this is a nice breath of fresh air.

Thought tonight's episode was really good. A lot more intrigue, a bit of suspense. James Frain's character looks interesting, and Eric is beginning to look more complex. And now, off to bed.

I think the last thing I expected to see when I tuned in was a Snoop Dogg tribute to Sookie Stackhouse. If I were Anna Paquin I'd be a little freaked out tonight.

I stopped watching a few episodes back and have felt no urge to catch up. I'm not a fan of the sudden heavy-handed vampire politics. I started getting nervous that the show would go in that direction last season when we were introduced to Evan Rachel Wood's character, who's one-liners, by the way, are horrifyingly awful. I'm no fan of the new characters either, nor of the writers' insistence on doing nothing interesting with Tara but keeping her on screen for a good portion of each episode. I never thought I'd say this, but I miss Marianne.

I actually like all the political stuff, heavy-handed as it may be. The show, from my view anyway, is headed in a far more interesting direction than last season.

I miss Marianne too, simply because she was easier on the eyes than this season's villain lol

I really enjoyed flame broiled Russell. Reminded me of the waiting room in Beetlejuice.

I did, too. Ball & co. would be foolish not to use any overt Poe references in relation to his character in later episodes.

This season, so far, has been a massive improvement over the last two.

Agreed. It only took until season four for this show to finally learn some story structure. Also all the screen time for Alexander Skarsgard doesn't hurt either.

Christopher Meloni Joins Season Five as Series Regular.

Between Chris and the fellow in that last image, this looks like fun.

This season was "meh" even though the finale ended on a nice tense note. I have a gut feeling Game Of Thrones has stolen this show's thunder. And now that Alan is stepping down as show-runner, it's possibly on shaky ground I am guessing.

Was really prepared to give up after the first episode (the social commentary made American Horror Story seem subliminal and subdued in comparison), but a few scenes from last week's show reeled me in slowly. All in all I think it's clear they should end next season if not this one (they would have said so by now), if they want to keep any semblance of interest in the show going.

I made it midway through the Christopher Meloni season before giving up on the show. It felt like, at least in the beginning, that there was some form of progression with the characters, but later on with Alcide kinda just sorta loitering around, I got the sense that there was no real direction. I think there were some great moments such as with Eric and his maker, Godric, but overall it lost me. I'm not surprised it is ending.

I'm not surprised that it's ending from within, rather than HBO cancelling it. It's still a fairly popular show and moneymaker for the network. It also makes the most sense story-wise as well. They've hit a few walls but there's still some semblance of an entertaining show underneath.
