DVD Planet shipped me the Eclipse Saura set and Army of Shadows (along with Garrell's Regular Lovers and Boorman's Point Blank) in an envelope. No damage, but I still prefer boxes. However, the very next day, O Lucky Man! arrived in a box! I wish they'd make up their mind.

They have, and again: if you order one title, it comes in a box, more than one title, in an envelope. That's never not been the case.

Yesterday I got Breathless and Under the Volcano from DVDPlanet.

In a box.

Oh yeah? Well today I got Breathless and Under the Volcano in a bubble mailer. Breathless has scratches on Disc 1.

Guess I'll stick with my almost perfect store-bought Breathless, given that the shipped in a box amazon one was crunched up too much.

Next stop, Berlin Alexanderplatz.

As this list has become the bubble mailer list, I post it here, even though it's not a criterion that has arrived:

Today, from AMAZON, the Twin Peaks GOLD BOX, in a -- no, not a gold box -- BUBBLE MAILER.

Undamaged, but still.

Amazing News, Everyone
Mark from DVDPlanet wrote:DVD Planet stopped using the bubble mailers on Monday. This is a manual process so a few order MAY slip through due to human error, but the warehouse is hand pulling Planet orders out of that packing line.

You guys spoke and I pushed for the change and we are back to boxes.

Well, that leads me to believe that perhaps they didn't ship B.A in a bubble bag after all :D

And that I can probably safely order from their sale now (wonder if the "packing line" is still being used by Deep Discount for their DVD orders...), and give them the bulk of my order (their prices being a little lower helps a lot too). Too bad my last order was bubble bagged...

They sent Berlin Alexanderplatz to me in a bubble bag. Fortunately, it was in perfect condition. It's good to hear they're reverting back to boxes.

The idiots at DVD Planet are shipping my latest purchase to my old address, even when I deleted that address from my account. =D>

This is the second time that's happened! Oh well. That package will get to me eventually. #-o

Anyone have any info regarding the availability of Drunken Angel? Amazon's site says it won't be delivered for two to three weeks. I recently received an e-mail from Amazon claiming it will be delivered sometime between December 10 and December 14.

On the 28th I got an email stating that, headacheboy. Then on the 29th I got another email saying it shipped. And on the 30th it arrived. *Shrug*

Thanks morbii. I'm sure it will arrive sooner than later, at least that's how it went with my last delayed amazon package (Kurbick). I should be more patient as I'll wait to watch this once I have the Postwar Kurosawa box in hand. I do like to pretend I'm in a cinematheque. After all, I'm an adventurous home viewer.

Whatever. Remember that Coup de Grace discount at CDWOW way back? I've waited a month, just emailed them that I hadn't gotten it yet. They wrote back lightning fast, literally 60 seconds, and said it was out of stock, here's a refund. Eh, I only wanted it because it was $12. And I must say that I couldn't have been jerked around by a more courteous and attentive bunch.

DVDPlanet just charged me for $64.95, so I'm pretty sure we're all about to get our Varda shipping confirmations.

I've ordered Stanley Kubrick collection from DVDPlanet and they have it backordered for over a month since my purchase. WTF?

I heard it's being recalled by Warner. I'm not sure why, probably the cover mess-up.

That makes sense, do you know where I can read this, a website or something?

I hope they don't send me the fuckup. Grrrr...

I got shipping confirmation for Varda and This Sporting Life but nothing for Naked Prey. Very odd.
