It's too bad, as he seemed like one of the few young Hollywood actors who truly cared about the work he chose.
Here's a gem quote from IMDB message board:
grieving retard wrote:God I am so pissed off. He was one of my favoirie actors! I am going to stop liking actors now cause they all die, I LOVED Brandon Lee and he is dead too, and at the same age..28!!
Wake me up when I can watch robots.

He was in Mary-Kate's apartment in Soho, but she's apparently in L.A.

But Ashley was reportedly in the apartment TODAY.

My God...
He was incredibly talented. I absolutely adored his performance in I'm Not There (his section was the most moving, by far), and he was the greatest part of Brokeback Mountain, The Brothers Grimm (brilliant comic work!), Monster's Ball and even Ten Things I Hate About You...I'm in total disbelief...very, very sad.

OK now it's NOT Mary Kate's apartment.

I was watching one of the news networks, and someone was saying that in a recent interview Heath said he was having trouble sleeping because of how dark and soulless the character of joker was. It's now going to be eerie as hell watching The Dark Knight this summer.

Where'd you hear this?

NY Times website:
A representative of Ms. Olsen said this afternoon that the apartment did not belong to the actress. “It is not her apartment,†said Annette Wolf, a publicist for Ms. Olsen. “She does not own the apartment. She has never owned the apartment. She and her sister have an apartment in New York City but they are not in this building.â€

I can't remember where I read about Ashley but chances are that was another lie dreamt up by the Olsens' publicist.

It's better than "HE WAS SO HOT WHY DID HE HAVE TO DIE!" from IMDB.
This is really a suckerpunch. This guy was finally turning out to be a great actor.

It's a little scary that established media run with their sources coming from TMZ. Ugh, I just found out that TMZ is running a video of the body being removed from the building. Fucking disgusting.

While it is wrong to focus completely on such things has this scuppered another Terry Gilliam film?
I don't think it's wrong at all to consider them, though. I, too, hope that his work in The Dark Knight was complete; even following his roles in films like Brokeback Mountain and Candy, this will likely be seen as the stepping stone to superstardom that he never had the chance to get past. The Joker isn't just a fascinating comic-book villain, he's an icon.
The Dark Knight is in post production, and I believe filming wrapped months ago. It will definitely be an eerie role with which to end a career.

This is going to make "I'm not there" much more emotional for me when It comes to town in a few weeks. Incredibly unexpected and very sad.

Especially since he plays a young actor whose life and marriage crumbles under the weight of hedonism, celebrity and a crisis of identity ('...you've changed'). He's never really been on my radar, but was excellent in I'm Not There - the film is a fine epitaph.

I bet all the other dead people are mad that Heath will win the clap-o-meter at this year's Oscars.

If there's no Oscar telecast, do you think next year's ceremony will have a supersized death reel from the past two years

Do they need writers to do a deathreel? That's the one thing they CAN do this year.

I really doubt that tomorrow they'll have the results since those toxicology test take a while. I just hope that the results show that it was an accidental overdose.

I asked, "who was that", and his reply was, "my dealer".
Yes, indeed, it was in fact "his dealer". The dude was on the phone with his cocaine dealer. I couldn't believe it, and being the (sometimes) bold person that I am, I then asked, "oh, so you're into that sorta thing, huh?" He said, "yeah", and I walked out. It was pathetic. I couldn't believe it. I had heard that "a lot of celebrities were doing 'coke'", but that pretty much sealed it for me.

I'd like to mention this is an old quote from 2006, and word of mouth is that Heath has been "clean for a year". We'll have to see the autopsy to really find out. It really appears that a combo sleep deprivation, pneumonia, and sleeping pills could have very well been the problem, which would be both reassuring and all the more tragic. When you take double the dosage of pills and wake up an hour later, you really shouldn't be touching the stuff.

What a total shocker. I only just found out and I only watched Brokeback Mountain the other night for the first time. I was so incredibly moved by his performance and now he's gone. A very fine actor, he will be missed.
