Yeah, me too. All I ever really wanted from the line was Parents and this one. At least we got Parents.
Definitely agree, stuff like that film, Trees Longue, Jesus' Son, Lantana and even Cecil B. Demented are the sort of films that i'd love to see releases (at least films such as Bully and Shattered Glass got releases internationally.)beamish14 wrote: Wed Jun 18, 2025 3:14 am A 4K of it would be nice, but how about releasing some films in HD that never even had decent DVD releases like Metroland?

The Rambo release is just going to be copies of the old steelbook set added to their Warehouse Finds section.Finch wrote: Mon Jan 26, 2026 6:01 pm Lionsgate Limited 4Ks of Kill Bill Whole Bloody Affair and a Rambo set confirmed by LL's Aaron Gershman for later this year. No specs yet etc.
All five films with both the theatrical and extended cuts of Rambo and Last Blood (Last Blood will be the final cut that appeared on Amazon).
New Dolby Vision grading on 1-3 (Rambo III is particularly in need of correction as it's colors are not only off, but it's highlights are terribly clipped. We're fixing that.)
Rambo III's subtitles are also being corrected and, while they'll be player generated, they're designed to match the font and timing of the optical theatrical subs. One thing to note about Rambo III's subs is that a lot of what people THOUGHT was subtitled originally, WASN'T. This has led to a lot of confusion about various releases missing them and one of the Blu-ray releases actually ADDING them when they weren't there theatrically. We're fixing all that and if it was subtitled theatrically... it'll be subtitled on the UHD.
1-3 have all been given brand new Dolby Atmos mixes. Part II, in particular, has sounded terrible for 20 years. We found the original 70mm 6-track mag for Part II and that was the basis for the new Atmos mix. But each of the first three movies will include: Theatrical Stereo PCM, TrueHD 5.1 (the 2002 mixes for First Blood and Rambo III and the unaltered 70mm 6-track for Rambo II) and the new Atmos mixes. Rambo: First Blood Part II sounds INCREDIBLE now... both it's original 6 track mix and the new Atmos. It's night and day and probably the thing I'm most excited about with this set.
We're looking to include EVERYTHING that was ever created for any of the various Rambo releases (globally) in the special features department. We're also creating a few new bits and one of those is dedicated to the original Drew Struzan art.
This release has been my baby for over a year and I've been dedicated to making sure this gets produced from the perspective of a fan and the Ghostbusters set that Sony put out earlier this year has been the model for this all along. Packaging is likely to be more of a gatefold style, but we've also secured the original lobby cards for the first three films and I'm hoping to talk to the studio into also including preprinted case inserts that use all the "style A" artwork so you could migrate the set to traditional cases if desired.
Everyone is completely committed to making this the very best Rambo set ever released which is why we missed the First Blood 40th (which was the plan) to give ourselves enough time to get all the details right.
So... that's it and that's everything that'll be said for now.
6-disc Amazon-exclusive Stallone Rambo 4K Collection on 5/26!
It’s going to include all four films in 4K Ultra HD only—Ted Kotcheff’s First Blood (1982), George P. Cosmatos’ Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985), Peter MacDonald’s Rambo III (1988), Sylvester Stallone’s Rambo (2008), and Adrian Grünberg’s Rambo: Last Blood (2019). Rambo and Rambo: Last Blood will both include the Theatrical and Extended versions. All of the films will include Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos. In addition, First Blood and Rambo III will also include the Original English 5.1 Dolby Audio, while Rambo: First Blood Part II will also include the Theatrical 70 mm 5.1 Dolby Audio.
And here’s something worth noting: This set will apparently address all of the various and sundry picture and sound issues that fans have flagged with previous releases on Blu-ray, DVD, and LaserDisc over the years!
In terms of special features, the First Blood 4K disc will include audio commentary with Sylvester Stallone and a second commentary with David Morell. Rambo: First Blood Part II will include audio commentary with George P. Cosmatos. Rambo III will include audio commentary with Peter MacDonald. Rambo (2008) will include audio commentary with Stallone on the Theatrical Cut only. And the 4K disc of Rambo: Last Blood will include no extras on the 4K disc, but again keep in mind that both this disc and Rambo (2008) will include two cuts of the film.
The set will also include a 4K bonus disc—not a Blu-ray—that’s a 100 GB disc and that will include all of the legacy special features and some new features too!
