Edward Sedgwick... Keaton's The Cameraman!

George Sidney is likely for Scaramouche which was an old laserdisc title.

Oh God please let Scaramouche be one of the WB titles they went after! One of the most joyously entertaining films ever made

And please let them actually bother with extras. There's got to be something worthwhile a creative and passionate mind could come up with.

A Criterion edition of Hedwig and the Angry Inch would be pretty cool.

George Stevens... Shane or A Place in the Sun.
James Whale.... The Old Dark House or Showboat.

Mervyn Leroy is an interesting name. Many of his best works are Warner Brothers/MGM films.

A Place in the Sun has been conspicuously absent from the Blu-ray market so far, it wouldn't be surprising to hear it was with Criterion all along

On the recent James Whale and Howard Hughes entries, I'm going to guess Hell's Angels.

Secretly hoping the Whale entry is for The Old Dark House.

Criterion was tweeting recently about an old negative of Frankenstein that was found.

Between James Whale and George Sidney, my hopes are on a Complete Show Boat set.

That's entirely likely as a laserdisc upgrade.

Seems like a sure thing.

Let it be true! Someone needs to pinch me, as I feel like I'm dreaming. The best news I've heard in a while!

FWIW It seems like a lot of those new phantom pages are related to potential Warner Bros. licenses (Hedwig, Gummo, Freaks, etc.)

I would include Mervyn Leroy in this. Perhaps I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang.

I'll guess The Glass Menagerie is the one for Irving Rapper.

Irving Rapper.

Although he is a Golden Age-veteran for multiple Bette Davis films, I am wondering if his page is for one of his final films, the film version of Christine Jorgensen's biography. This could be a pairing with "Hedwig" or Water's "Multiple Maniacs." Probably the best pairing for this would be for an Ed Wood film, but that seems a little too wishful thinking for Criterion.

My guesses

Rapper: Now, Voyager
LeRoy: Chain Gang like FrauBlucher said.
Walsh: High Sierra or They Drive by Night

Funny that LeRoy and James Whale popped up on the same day. LeRoy remade Whale's Waterloo Bridge.

WAC will release Now, Voyager. They will probably release High Sierra and They Drive by Night eventually themselves.

And Universal would never let Frankenstein go. C'mon.

For what it's worth, Rapper was dialogue director on Walsh's High Sierra.

George Stevens - A Place in the Sun or Swing Time (former Criterion Laserdisc)
George Sidney - Scaramouche
Tod Browning - Freaks
James Whale - Show Boat, Hell's Angels
Raoul Walsh - High Sierra
Frank Tuttle - This Gun for Hire
George Marshall - The Blue Dahlia, Destry Rides Again
Irving Rapper - Now, Voyager, The Brave One, One Foot in Heaven
Mervyn LeRoy - I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang

Regarding George Stevens, the Region A blu of Shane has been OOP for a bit.

I wonder how much of it is for real and how much of it is Criterion messing with us. I'm surprised they added so many names at once

I think it's pretty real. Majority of the phantom pages from the first go-around have gotten releases and that had more names.

This could very well be it. And maybe even a supplement for the titles you mentioned... The only reason I mentioned The Glass Menagerie is it's Tennessee Williams. Criterion likes the literary adaptations.

I'd be thrilled to pieces if the Raoul Walsh film were Strawberry Blonde.
