Yeah, I had the memory of that picture.

When Creed 2 inevitably kills Rocky off I'm sure they'll try another bid.

Rivette didn't make the cut for the In Memoriam. A bit surprising, to me, anyway.

Akerman and Scola but no Rivette?

Very surprising. But neither did "into the light of the dark black night," so

No Abe Vigoda, either.

I like that they used Bowie's line from Zoolander for his In Memoriam bit.

No Roddy Piper either. Not that I seriously thought he'd be up there but still.

Yeah, Moe Greene but no Tessio?

Maybe Abe Vigoda isn't really dead?

I'm much happier being lectured on sexual assault than how it's racist to not be nominated for oscars all night

I guess I shouldn't be shocked by the idea that the light and in-perspective Rock take on this controversy was perceived as a lecture

Someone tweeted how awkward it would be if the song from Fifty Shades of Grey won.

It was just such a bad afterthought of a song.

My takeaway from the Gaga performance is that if you're sexually assaulted, we're going to start literally branding you with it on your arm.

Kind of reminded me of the ending to the Brass Eye special.
Congrats to AMPAS and Lady Gaga for successfully commercializing alleged sexual assault!

I'm just being snarky there and don't even necessarily disagree with him in parts, but I really think he beat it to death, with the opening bit and every skit being about race. The Biden/Gaga section just put it in perspective how little the whole "controversy" matters
Otherwise I think this has been one of the better telecasts

A great score and totally deserving, and at least the best film of the year walked away with something

Love Morricone winning. It's not just a "due" Oscar, as it's truly a glorious soundtrack.
Something the Academy needs to correct in the future though: Thomas Newman and Roger Deakins, each 0-13 for their careers.

It's a great score indeed. I really liked the Sicario score as well, and though I haven't seen their films from this year I really like Newman (who's due one anytime now soon I believe), Williams and Burwell too.
