For some reason I thought Warner Archive had upgraded this to blu-ray. I know I saw an HD version streaming somewhere online. I would hope that when it finally gets re-released that they'd put some effort into including all the concert footage not actually included in the film that still exists. I would think that Home Of The Brave: A Film By Laurie Anderson or Madonna:Truth Or Dare would be more likely to come sooner. I wonder how much sway Criterion might have with Madonna to get the excised footage included as an extra for that one though (supposedly there's quite a bit, but Madonna being Madonna probably kept it off previous releases). I don't know if Warner still has rights to any Prince live shows, but I don't think they have Sign O' The Times, supposedly his best.

P.S. - Why are so many of you talking about Ophuls re-releases? Did I miss something?

None of his 4k restorations have made it to UHD so far in Region A. Given how much Kubrick loved Ophuls (something that's had attention because of the Kubrick box) & the fact Criterion's release of his Viennese trilogy devolved into individual releases that had problems, it would seem to be a high priority for Criterion to do Ophuls right this time & on the heels of the Kubrick box.

Thanks, I get it now. I didn't have the recent European Ophuls restorations on my radar. It would be amazing if Criterion re-released them properly.

Stranger things have happened, but I would be surprised if Criterion upgraded any of the Ophuls titles that Janus has (La ronde, Le plaisir, Madame de..., Lola Montès) without a theatrical rollout first. Janus has never had DCPs for any of them (4K or otherwise) and for La ronde and Le plaisir they just have the DVDs.
