I know I've said elsewhere on this forum that Arrow got a really solid group of Paramount titles, but I didn't think Kino would be hit with this bad a group of leftovers. surely there's more Paramount titles of quality out there to release??

Even if they are mediocre, there are a lot of mediocre movies and filmmakers. They are entitled to a little representation, aren't they, and a little chance?

Yes, two months this year have not been good from Warner but for me it least, there was nothing Kino have announced since Cry Baby and Bad Lieutenant that made me take notice, and I'm not buying either disc until they've been confirmed to be safe buys. Warner Archive on the other hand deliver on the encodes every single time even for the movies no one here gets excited about.

I’m still really excited about the Patricia Rozema restorations that KL will release, but god only knows when they’ll do it. They’re sitting on the complete catalog of Rob Nilsson (Northern Lights), too

Nearly every US boutique has deals with Paramount, so, at a certain point, given their release model, Kino was going to get a bunch of scraps.

WAC and their authoring house Duplitech may have reversed that approach recently when looking at the newest The Nun’s Story BD. Their new The Rain People BD is also badly encoded according to kmhofmann. I wonder if WAC’s budget was cut by the Zaslav regime which resulted in the declining quality.

I by no means am comparing the tech side of their releases. Just their selections. WAC has had a better release schedule than Kino but they also have a much bigger selection choose from, which at times has been a disappointment because Feltenstein uses the excuse that that's what's asked for by the fans of WAC. Who are these people

Bug release is now planned again.

In addition to Le Doulos and Bob Le Flambeur, Kino is also releasing Last Year at Marienbad and Alphaville on UHD in August. Quite a month for poached former Criterions.

All four of those titles sound like movies someone would actually want to have on UHD, so I’m not sure it fits KLSC’s new model

I'm sure they'll find some way to screw up some of them.

It’s Julie Kirgo. The booklet was included in Kino’s original Blu (but it’s also not a copy of Kirgo’s Twilight Time booklet).

I see, that makes perfect sense.

Has "Alphaville" by Kino on UHD/Blu-Ray been canceled or postponed ?

although I have the Japanese blu-ray (which has the StudioCanal logo on the back of the artwork) and was very pleased with the picture quality and film texture, I'm curious what Kino could do with this combo release. I have tried to find it at wowhd but contrary to Cry Baby which I have already received from wowhd, "Alphaville" is not listed on wowhd.
