Odd -- I noticed that the list includes the individual films from the Six Moral Tales set and the Tati set, but the sets themselves are available.

I had a premonition about this yesterday!

Here's what's been added since the last time I updated my own list... (aside from Europa)

50- And the Ship Sails On (still part of the Fellini box, which is "currently unavailable")
154- The Horse's Mouth
239- The Lower Depths
241- Jean Renoir: Stage and Spectacle
263- Fanny and Alexander: Theatrical Cut (full package still available)
275- Tout va bien
282- Andrzej Wajda: Three War Films (Ashes and Diamonds still available separately)
303- Bad Timing
324- La bete humaine
328- Murmur of the Heart
379- The Burmese Harp (didn't this just get restored?)
410- Under the Volcano
427- Death of a Cyclist
455- White Dog
471- Shohei Imamura: Pigs, Pimps and Prostitutes
524- The Only Son/There Was a Father

Eclipse 15: Travels with Hiroshi Shimizu
Eclipse 25: Basil Dearden's London Underground
The DVD box set of Grey Gardens and The Beales of Grey Gardens (both still available separately)
Trilogia de Guillermo del Toro (I think this was already OOP and I just forgot to add it to my list)

In regards to what is now OOP, here’s some alternative releases besides what has a available Blu-Ray opinion from Criterion:
The Horse’s Mouth has an available German Blu-Ray
Renoir’s Lower Depths has an English subbed Blu-Ray from France
Kurosawa’s Lower Depths has a release in BFI’s Kurosawa Classics Collection DVD set
The Golden Coach from Renoir just got released from Raro
Elena and Her Men has an English-friendly Gaumont Blu-Ray
French Cancan has a BFI Blu-Ray
Tout va bien has an Arrow Academy Blu-Ray
The Wadja set has been upgraded for Blu-Ray by Second Run
Murmur of the Heart also has an English-friendly Blu-Ray release
The Burmese Harp is most likely just selling off DVD stock before prepping a Blu-Ray considering Criterion’s fazing out of their DVDs
Under the Volcano has a Carlotta Blu-Ray
Death of a Cyclist has a couple non-English friendly Blu-Rays but could anticipate a Blu-Ray release in the US or UK in the near future
White Dog has a Eureka Blu-Ray
And the Ozu 2-pack is available in BFI’s edition of Late Spring (The Only Son) and Equinox Flower (There Was a Father)

FWIW, Imagine Ritrovata made a 4K scan of La Bête humaine from a nitrate copy (the best source available) and completed a 2K restoration sometime around 2013. After it got a theatrical release, it was issued on a Blu-ray by Studio Canal in France, but I have no idea how it looks. (It's also OOP.) Was hoping Criterion would upgrade it, but I guess they never did.

I posted about Stage and Spectacle a few days ago (and noticed it was OOP then), but the transfer of The Golden Coach hasn't aged well and has major problems with the ending, so the newer restoration on Raro is definitely the way to go. (Criterion's extras are missed but they are up on their channel, including Scorsese's introduction.)

Also, I think the new BFI Blu-ray Two Films by Yasujirō Ozu actually has a newer restoration of There Was a Father than the one on the previous dual-format two-fer, Equinox Flower + There Was a Father.

I think all four of the Hiroshi Shimizu films in that set were done for Blu-ray with English subtitles but in Japan only. Those sets are now OOP but the transfers aren't exactly difficult to view, if you know what I mean.

If I'm not mistaken, all of Eureka's Paramount licenses, including White Dog, OOP?

Have they actually lost the rights to any of these, or are they just letting their DVD-only stock gradually run out (with upgrades maybe possibly who knows in the future)?

They still have quite a few of Paramount licenses in-print.

it also contains the full version of There Was a Father, which had never previously been released. a miracle they were able to put that together

I believe the latter. though I don't have hope for boxsets like Wajda or Malle that had one title upgraded to get a full upgrade at any point. I'm honestly confused by the Stage and Spectacle titles, I'd have imagined that would've been upgraded at some point

I'm under the assumption they let them go OOP when the license period runs out though. so Johnny Guitar, The Spy Who Came in From the Cold, The Sun Shines Bright will all go OOP eventually, but all are well worth picking up

The Sun Shines Bright was recently discontinued.

Going forward, please list all of the titles going OOP in this thread— saying an “Eclipse series” is going OOP doesn’t give anyone information they can use. Thanks!

To be fair, saying "Sólo con tu pareja" is going OOP doesn't give anyone information they can use either!

I’m so used to Border Radio being the whipping boy that I did forget that one was about as popular a release here!

I wonder if Empire of Passion is getting picked up by another label, considering this film and In the Realm of the Senses got UHD releases in France (I get the feeling the latter film is going out of print as well, at the very least the DVD version of that film has been removed from the site).

There’s also a, I believe, Region Free Gaumont Blu-Ray of Le Plaisir with English subs, as is the also case for The Fire Within.

No, it just appears to be Criterion phasing out DVDs, as Janus still has these.

I guess with these DVD releases being discontinued, I am hoping that these films get upgraded in the near future, especially since t4K restorations are available internationally.

I would assume any and every Eclipse set remaining will go OOP as soon as their stock is out, so if any are still in print and you want them, get em tomorrow in the sale

Most of these going out are DVD only editions that they're probably letting production lapse between now and whenever they inevitably come back around for HD releases. Still not holding my breath on any but not terrified.
