I nearly picked Landscape in the Mist as a perfect starting point, and indeed was seriously considering contacting the BFI to propose a quick rewrite if the piece wasn't going to appear until next week, but I kept coming back to The Travelling Players.
What was the turnout like for Reconstruction, incidentally? I'm very tempted to come up to London for The Travelling Players on Sunday, but it will almost certainly be a last-minute decision.
(It's my 23rd wedding anniversary, and my wife has made it very clear that near-four-hour Greek films don't and will never factor into her plans, despite her having Greek ancestry herself. But as yet we don't have any other plans, so if Sunday afternoon's free I might well take advantage.)

Re: Recommendations for Second Run
I'd suspect the people who are open to going to an Angelopoulos film in the first place are probably not too bothered by length, so Travelling Players is a fair shout. Reconstruction's screening was about 75% full I reckon? The ICA can be a bit random (to me) with what sells out/nearly sells out recently, e.g. Duelle and City of Pirates on weekday evenings were a total surprise.MichaelB wrote: Fri Oct 24, 2025 12:50 pm I nearly picked Landscape in the Mist as a perfect starting point, and indeed was seriously considering contacting the BFI to propose a quick rewrite if the piece wasn't going to appear until next week, but I kept coming back to The Travelling Players.
