The first of the four holiday/weekend announcements
Coming Soon on 4KUHD!
Brand New HDR/DV Master – From a 4K Scan of the 35mm Original Camera Negative!
Somewhere in Time (1980) Starring Christopher Reeve, Jane Seymour, Christopher Plummer, Teresa Wright, Bill Erwin, George Voskovec & William H. Macy – Shot by Isidore Mankofsky (The Muppet Movie) – Music by John Barry (Out of Africa) – Screenplay by Richard Matheson (I Am Legend) – Directed by Jeannot Szwarc (Jaws 2).
Kino should get the Oscar-nominated costume designer to sit down for one of their extras. I’m follow him on Twitter and he’s hilariously candid in his opinions of everyone he’s ever worked with or knew second-hand (he’s said Reeve was one of the worst stars he’d ever worked with, for instance), I’m sure he’d be thrilled to give them a supplement requiring lawyers to approve

What was his issue with Reeve?

Mainly stuff like this
I’ve had to work w/many who would first off boast of high IQs (Christopher Reeve). I never saw any trace of great knowledge in any of them.
It’s evidence that you have swallowed all the studio PR that was put out on Christopher Reeve. If you had personally known him or even worked with him once you would not in anyway thanks so highly of him. He was probably the biggest jerk I ever met in Hollywood.
But this one makes me laugh in its pettiness
The GREATEST disappointments in dressing C. Reeve was his white, pasty paunchy body. It was right after “Superman” & he DIDN’T have the body one saw on screen. He was flabby w/sagging flesh that had been hidden by rubber suiting & spandex to give him a toned physic he exhibited.

I'm losing my mind at his seemingly bottomless hatred for Raquel Welch, who he calls a "ghastly bitch!!!!" and a "rotten , ugly, selfish, untalented, snake who was 5’2” w/o heels!" Apparently Mae West (who he liked) also hated her so much that she refused to speak to her throughout the making of Myra Breckinridge

I like this film a lot, but the Blu Ray is pretty good and Kino will probably find a way to screw it up.

I wonder if, since Indicator has been releasing a lot of these titles this year, this could mean that they might also be releasing Easy Living.

For films likely not coming from Indicator, I recommend Blindfold and Woman in Hiding. I may pick up Mirage, even though it’s not entirely successful as a very late entry noir

Frank Tarzi confirmed on a podcast that KL will be releasing Spike Lee's Inside Man on 4K. This is the first 4K upgrade that they have announced that I'm actually excited about in a long while.
BarnDoor at the other forum listened to the full podcast and made a list of the other titles that Tarzi announced:
Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead on 4K UHD
The Bermuda Triangle (1979)
Huckleberry Finn (1931)
Father Brown, Detective (1934)
Exclusive (1937)
Artists and Models (1937) / Man About Town (1939) (Jack Benny Double Feature)
The Gracie Allen Murder Case (1939)
The Farmer's Daughter (1940)
Rock, Pretty Baby (1956)
They're also probably going to drop Mr Bug Goes To Town

This guy just posted a personal picture of a bunch of guys (including Stephen Collins) at a party circled around looking at Oliver Reed’s dick in his driveway. Time really got Man of the Year wrong

Was there ever any update on KL's
Shane 4K? Is it still coming?
Copying and pasting this post I found on the other forum:
Frank was on Cereal at Midnight the other day and said it should be the first half on 2025. There have obviously been delays. He said the Stevens heirs had issues with the work and KL had to redo some of it to meet their approval. If you look at the interview, the Shane part is almost at the end of their discussion.
Interesting to know what the heirs would have taken issue with. Also interesting that they apparently have final approval on it.

That should read “William Baldwin”, not “William Holden”, although the latter would have clearly been a bigger draw had he not died fifteen years earlier.

Fixed (for the record I just cut and pasted the announcement from a social media post. Curious to know if it was a mistake in KLSC's orignal announcement or if the account I copies it from screwed up.)

I wish "William Holden" and "UHD" was real and the rest of it was a typo.
