A fun idea, I could pretty easily make a Top 25 or even 50 of perfect Simpsons episodes.

"Homer Badman" would top my all-time list, that's for sure.

It's in my spec Top 5. Last Exit to Springfield and Marge vs the Monorail seem like an untoppable Number One and Two though

OK, y'all want me to take the initiative and run this thing or what? Swozie? Wanna do it or should I?

All I know for sure is I'm not getting any movie watching done tonight now that I'm digging out these DVD sets

I'd be happy to tabulate unless you have a burning desire to do it yourself. A key question would seem to be timing--mainly, how to coordinate this with the ongoing decades and genre lists. Maybe wait until after the 2010-2014 and "all time" lists have wrapped up? Also, would the Simpsons movie be eligible?

I think doing it as a parallel Other List would be fine since it's such a different thing, but that's up to you. As far as the tabulation, I would need a primer, so if you'd rather just do it, that's alright with me.

And I don't see any reason why the movie shouldn't be eligible, unless we have a reverse-Deadwood situation going on.

Haha did I accidentally bury my own post about this very episode by doubleposting

Just did you a solid because I'm bored at the office

EDIT: Oh, wait - hahahaha that literally did nothing to assist with the post being buried. Sorry.

As somebody who has found the lists sub-forum incredibly daunting I would like to voice my support for this idea and would eagerly participate as though my filmic knowledge is lacking if there's one thing I do know it's The Simpsons.

(And, not to make it too crazy with even more spotlights than previously mentioned, but I think allowing four might be better, given surely most everyone's spotlight from a 4-10 would come from the first half there? Maybe 1-3, 4-7, 8-12, 13-Present? 12 is probably the last season I'd go up to bat as still being consistently pretty good. This might be wholly unnecessary given I'm sure such a project would end up resulting with the participants watching basically the entire block of the first ten seasons regardless and whatever few favorites from later on they already like)

Al Jean shared some of the script of an unaired episode that was to feature Prince on Twitter today

I assume Prince said no because that's awful?

Who else has rejected guest spots? The one that comes to mind is Tom Cruise for the guy in "Brother from the Same Planet" that befriends Bart.

As I recall, Prince said yes- to a script that wound up being a spec script written by some dude, and not the one the Simpsons staff actually made. He then turned down the real one.

De Niro would have been interesting if he played a character, rather than just doing another cameo.
