Johnny Lingo!

If nothing else, swo, you will get this reference.

Cronos and Monsoon Wedding are both Focus titles. I'm hoping next month the clue is a big fat Japanese dude saying "Let the punishment fit the crime!"

That was actually my first guess, and I will be disappointed when it is proven wrong.

I like the Monsoon Wedding suggestion. Perhaps Mira Nair's Salaam Bombay! will also be released if this is the title.

I thought Cronos was Lionsgate.

October Films was behind Cronos' US theatrical release, so I'm guessing that Cronos is now under Focus/Universal control (which would explain why the Lionsgate DVD went OOP). I feel like the same thing may have happened with Fox's now OOP discs of Secrets and Lies and Career Girls, which would surely put those as well as Life is Sweet and Topsy-Turvy on Criterion's radar. Ditto the aforementioned Year of the Horse and I'm sure several others.

When I read it I was sure it was The Bride Wore Black.

What's the cow reference about, other than Jeanne Moreau looking like one in the film?

Cow reference is to India.

Not quite the right type of cow though  - although it might well be a bull.
Looks like the artist was thinking Texas rather than Delhi. Steaks rather than sacred...

At least they're finally edging into Focus Features territory. Gives me an excuse to keep my fingers crossed for Lost in Translation.

Seriously. And the current DVD which is still very much in print has a commentary and making-of thingy. I really don't see the point of this release.

If it's really Monsoon Wedding, then they're finally pushing me over into the Schreck "they ain't what they usta be" camp. They'd better hurry the hell up & get some von Sternberg out or ... or ... I'm writing a letter to the editor.
