ha! I'm with you, totally don't understand why one would spend 3+ hours of their time watching a program they detest.
The only complaint I have any respect for is "why didn't they make this telecast
more flawless?"

I'm surprised Samuel L. Jackson gives the Academy the time of day anymore. Losing count of how many times he's been snubbed.

It's like Wagner - you sit through hours of tedium so you can experience those precious few sublime moments.
At this point we've seen enough of these to not get worked up over anything. That said La La Land winning best picture among other awards, <gasp> 'writing', drives me nuts, but I've had a few months now to poop this reality thru my system.

He probably hates them right back tonite given that they had him present this award knowing his vocal displeasure of the probable winner!

It's a shame that actors of a certain age who were in the Harry Potter films for more than a split second really got a raw deal in the posthumous career recognition department

It was worse for Bowie, reduced to a
Zoolander cameo.

Perhaps there's now hope for Moonlight, MBS or Hidden Figures to overtake LLL for best director & picture.

Disagree, though I did like the speech.
