Any idea what's going on with the Brand Upon the Brain! release in Canada?

Amazon.ca has cited a shipping delay until August 25-27th, and HMV, CD Plus, and FutureShop.ca all list it as unavailable. (All three said August 12th, yesterday.) A CD Plus representative said it's been delayed "indefinitely" and Chapters now says September 8th.

McNally Robinson (a truly fantastic bookstore) has it in store already. Too bad I'm waiting for my Amazon copy. But if you live in Winnipeg, Saskatoon or Toronto you could pick it up.

I placed an order last day of the sale, and it finally shipped. The Passion was one of those films, so I suspect your order should be shipping at latest Monday/Tuesday next week if it has not already occured.

bkimball, what day did you order? I ordered the Varda and Dreyer boxes on July 28th, and nothing has shipped yet.

Did anyone else pre-order Salo from DD? If so, did yours ship? I still haven't even been charged... starting to wonder if they're going to have a shortage issue.

I know, DD usually ships about a week early to make sure things arrive on or around the release date, though, in my experience.

My copy of Salo from DD shipped mid-day today (or at least that's when my confirmation e-mail came); hopefully other people's orders will be filled soon...

Won't know until later today I suppose, but dvdempire usually processes my in-stock pre-orders first thing Friday morning, but seems to be waiting for (more?) Salo stock. Guess it's that 19.97 pre-order price from way back in May...

Edit: shipped yesterday (the 26th).

DD takes as much as two weeks to get to me sometimes (but sometimes much less than this). Of course, this depends on what shipping option you chose, and where you live, but I've found their deliveries to be very unpredictable.

During the sale I was getting packages within 3 days, which is the only reason I ask. They are quite erratic. So much for the "on or around the release date" business.

Mine arrived in today's mail (and in a box, not a padded envelop).

Fingers crossed. Haven't received a padded envelope from DD yet, but I'm hoping that if I ever do, it isn't a digipak they decide to put in one.

Has anyone here had any recent dealings with CriterionDVD.com? I've been ordering from them for the last 2 years, but have noticed a big drop off in quality over the past few months. There's been a mistake with my latest orders and they haven't been replying to emails...

Just as I wanted to order some Ophuls...

I have only noticed that it takes much longer to receive the dvds from them than in the past. I used to get them within 4-5 days, and now it's about 2 weeks, i guess it's outside of their control and the problem may be with Royal Mail, but quite annoying.
