No surprise there. Over the years there have been two Degrassi movies that have been made for TV, and it seems like this will be same deal.domino harvey wrote:Everyone's favorite show on the N is about to get the full-length treatment

After barely getting Murray to do the second one, I thought he said it would be a cold day in hell before he would do this. Surely he doesn't need the money? #-o
Stars reunite for Ghostbusters III
The Daily Telegraph
HOLLYWOOD studio Columbia is planning to revive its hit 1980s franchise Ghostbusters with a third film that will reunite the four main spook-hunters. Entertainment industry daily Variety reported on its website that Columbia Pictures had already hired screenwriters Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky to write the third film in the money-spinning series.
The first two Ghostbusters movies - about an intrepid team of ghost exterminators battling supernatural forces in New York City - grossed more than $US500 million ($613 million) worldwide in total.
The main members of the original cast, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson, would also return for the third film, Variety reported.
Director Ivan Reitman made both the 1984 original and the 1989 sequel.

Agreed, but that is a cake job. Doesn't even have to get dressed in the morning or comb his hair, and he probably finished the work in two weeks.Antoine Doinel wrote:If the price is right, Bill Murray will do anything.aox wrote:After barely getting Murray to do the second one, I thought he said it would be a cold day in hell before he would do this. The Chicago Tribune received an e-mail from Harold Raamis all but confirming Ghostbusters 3:
"yes, columbia is developing a script for GB3 with my year one writing partners, gene stupnitsky and lee eisenberg. judd apatow is co-producing year one and has made several other films for sony, so of course the studio is hoping to tap into some of the same acting talent. aykroyd, ivan reitman and i are consulting at this point, and according to dan, bill murray is willing to be involved on some level. he did record his dialogue for the new ghostbusters video game, as did danny and i, and ernie hudson. the concept is that the old ghostbusters would appear in the film in some mentor capacity. not much else to say at this point. everyone is confident a decent script can be written and i guess we'll take it from there.
best,
harold

Quintet Join Ginsberg's "Howl"
By Garth Franklin
Tuesday, September 9th 2008 2:24am
David Strathairn, Alan Alda, Jeff Daniels, Mary-Louise Parker and Paul Rudd have joined the biopic "Howl" for Telling Pictures says The Hollywood Reporter.
Documentarians Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman will make their narrative writing, producing and directing debut with the 1950s-era tale, focusing on the obscenity trial launched to censor Allen Ginsberg's groundbreaking book-length poem.
James Franco is already attached to play Ginsberg. The quintet will play various real-life characters including prosecuting attorney Ralph McIntosh (Strathairn), Judge Clayton Horn (Alda), prosecution witness Professor David Kirk (Daniels), radio personality and prosecution witness Gail Potter (Parker) and literary critic and defense witness Luther Nichols (Rudd).
Graphic novelist and Ginsberg collaborator Eric Drooker will create an animated reimagining of Howl, and Carter Burwell will write the original score.

Oh god, I really hope Wes Anderson doesn't go the remake route. I've very partial to mainstream French comedies, but Mon meilleur ami is trifiling at best and is ultimately a tepid morality comedy about the value of friendship. Yeah, it's about as good as that sounds. Anderson should hook back up with Baumbach or Wilson to write his next film.

A man's gotta eat, y'know? With any luck, he could make Leconte's film more French than it already probably is (sorry, Canada!), or at least enough for one of the Wilson brothers (I think you know which one) to fumble through it with enough believability to cut out a few slices of cake to take home and freeze until the gumption and heady financing come knocking again.Antoine Doinel wrote:Oh god, I really hope Wes Anderson doesn't go the remake route....Anderson should hook back up with Baumbach or Wilson to write his next film.

Aparrently the Guitar Hero movie will have to wait since Brett Ratner is now working on Beverly Hills Cop 4 with Eddie Murphy.
