Voyage to the End of the Universe (Ikarie XB 1), Case for a Rookie Hangman (Prípad pro zacínajícího kata) Joseph Kilian (Postava k podpírání) by Národní filmový archiv in December (http://nfa.cz/cz/e-shop/filmy/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
Dear Mr. Đogović,
I'm writing you on behalf of my colleague Tomáš Žúrek. Ikarie XB 1 will be available on our e-shop at the beginning of the December in the form of DVD and Blu-Ray. Ikarie XB 1 contains english, czech and french subtitles. If you are interested in Ikarie XB 1 in private purposes, you can buy it at the e-shop via bank transfers, as I mentioned.

Can anyone who's gotten this confirm that it's English friendly? I'm almost certain that it is since "Invention for Destruction" was but I'd like to verify before ordering if possible.

I've been lurking on this forum for quite a while now and have finally decided to register and to actually start posting.

I've acquired a small number of Czech DVDs from Ebay over the last few years but would like to order directly from the Czech Republic in order to get more for my money. Can anyone recommend any reliable Czech e-tailers?

I haven't ordered anything from them in several years, but I remember dvdbest.sk being reliable.

Seconded - not least because their packaging would stop a tank. It takes ages to cut it open, mind, but the contents will invariably be in perfect condition.

What is the quality like? I hope that the image isn't overly processed. Is the film presented in the correct aspect ratio?

Yes, it is English friendly and quality of the restoration is outstanding. I watched my copy projected on a big screen the other day and enjoyed it a lot.

Fantastic! Thank you so much for confirming this. I've had a request for the Czech "Ikarie XB-1" come in since I posted this, so now I'll have to wait for someone to confirm the English friendliness of that one before ordering, but once that comes through I should have a nice bundle on the way between that and the two Zemans.

Been dying to see more Zeman after being blown away by Jester's Tale so it's great to hear these are English-friendly. 4xblu, will you be offering the two Zemans online? Not sure what my most cost-effective option is shipping-wise.

That's the plan, eventually. I was thinking that, once I get the go ahead for "Ikarie XB-1," I'd be getting one of those, two "Invention for Destruction"s (one of which is earmarked for a friend of mine) and five "Baron Munchausen"s (one reference copy, three for shop regulars who've already told me that they want it, and a fifth for the aforementioned friend). I suppose I could add a sixth Munchausen just so I have a copy to make available at large.
