What about after shipping?
No, they can only do it before shipping -- and if they do catch the error, they apparently give you the option to cancel or continue at the higher price.

I just got my set today from Columbia House for $31 shipped. I also ordered another, since it's still listed at the same low price.

Just ordered one from Tower--$28.08 shipped. Keeping my fingers crossed it will go through. Why are so many e-tailers mis-pricing this set?

Yeah, I noticed that too which is great service, by the way.

Mine is supposedly shipping today. Has anyone else's shipped yet?

They've sent an email saying they've just shipped my order.

On the Tower website it now says 'Sorry, this title is not currently available' which probably means they've caught on to the miss price but are honouring the low price.

Now that everybody's happy, I'd like to ask a question: has anyone watched Labyrinth of Passion? It's the only Almodovar I still haven't seen and I'm really, really curious about it. I'm thinking of getting the VHS but I'm afraid it will not be worth the trouble. Am I right?

Got mine from Tower yesterday and watched Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. Looks like a great set for an unbeatable price, and I really enjoyed my first exposure to Almodovar. The film was hilarious, much more so than I was expecting. Just lots of fun, and visually very stylish. The opening may have been my favorite part in terms of pure visuals -- the almost abstract transitions between TV images, the sleeping woman, the voiceover recording, and what seemed to be an 8 1/2 inspired dream (except here a nightmare because it was the woman dreaming it rather than the man, a neat inversion of perspective).

The extras and package design look gorgeous. Will this same deal come to R1 shores?

Got the set today and two pleasant surprises awaited me: firstly, the package went throught customs and I was not charged which is rare for big, heavy boxsets like these (thank you, Tower Records!); and secondly, I already went through the whole of the bonus extras disc and found all the featurettes extremely pleasing and seldom repetitive while at the same time offering a lot of insight into Almodovar's career and films and even his childhood and youth (which I knew little about) in a total of roughly 2 hours of solid interviews and comments.

Great, great set and I'm only sad that we will have to wait until he releases another film before we see an eventual (fingers crossed?) second volume.

I have lots of questions about the remainder of Almodovar's films that no one seems to be able to answer. So I'm going to my film-nerd go-to forum:

Dark Habits - the customer review on Amazon.com says the the Wellspring release at 114 min is cut, yet the other versions I've been able to find have run between 96-100 min, which would make the Wellspring the most complete.

What Have I Done to Deserve This?: DVDBeaver says the UK version is pretty severely cropped, the Wellspring doesn't appear to be cropped from what I've read, but I can't find anywhere that will vouch for the AV quality. Amazon.ca states that is is an RSDL HD transfer though, so that sounds promising, any thoughts?

Pepi, Luci, Bom: Am I to understand that the UK version is as good as any?

Kika, Atame, and Tacones Altos: Which ones should I go for? There were a bunch of Almodovar films released in Australia last year, anybody seen those yet? Kika is readily available in the UK, as is Atame, but I can't find a readily availble version of High Heels.

Help me!!

Picture quality on the Wellspring WHIDTDT disc is perfectly acceptable. Unfortunately, I think it may be OOP.

As far as I know, this is the only one available with English subs.

The disc is not OOP. By the way, the AV is above average.

Sorry - this title must have simply been dropped by my usual sources.

The UK 2-disc set of Volver has received good reviews. The R1 Sony is announced to be a one-disc edition only. I do not know what is on that single disc edition. Does anyone know if Sony is putting everything on one disc or whether it has less extras than the UK version?

The Sony R1 will have these bonus features:

• AFI Tribute to Penélope Cruz
• Director and Cast Interviews
• “Making Of 'Volver'"
• Audio Commentary with Pedro Almodóvar and Penélope Cruz
• Photo Gallery
