Done it several times and they have always come through, so I certainly can't complain about them, I'm just tired of having to do this over and over again. The worst case was the Costa box, for 18 months I looked at over 20 sets and not one, I repeat not one, was without significant damage way beyond a little edge ding. I did get a new one folded from Criterion finally (and no, I'm not exaggerating the numbers here).

Fully agree, has also happened a lot to me, but at least my track record here has been better than with the digipacks, although also had to ask numerous times for replacements.

Exactly. I believe I have had more problems with plastic cases compared to digipaks. I prefer digipaks anyways so I might be more harsh on the plastic cases.

Would you buy a new car if it has a visible dent in it, even if it's only a small one? So why let DVD manufacturer's get away with it, because their product is less expensive, because it's seen as even more of a commodity than a car?

What's the blu-book (pun intended) value on a once-dinged Sansho? More if you buff it out?

- My argument is that once you own the thing it's up to you how you treat it and yes there is a "blu-book' value on the BR/DVD collectors market for used items, but at least you should have a chance to get it undamaged and with many digibooks that's not really the case. And have you ever tried to "buff out" a dent in a digipack? Good luck with that one! .

Well, I like them all. Safety Last! seems at first a bit plain, but I really like the way the title and Lloyd's name were incorporated into the picture.

I think Safety Last is great, and obviously meant to cash in on an image that's probably more renowned than the names of the film or director.

According to the website, Harold Lloyd is not the director. Fred Newmeyer and Sam Taylor are.
