I rewatched both this and A Canterbury Tale recently and they only got better. Is that possible?

Yes, the magical elements of each continue to grow on me upon repeat viewings as well, whereas P&P's more grounded-to-reality works don't necessarily deliver the same returns

Yup, and this time I doubt they'll bother with a native Blu-ray, let alone a 4K disc. ITV really do have their finger on the pulse, don't they? No idea why they have such strict licensing rules for the UK, but apparently not for the US or Australia. They must have very little respect for their home audience.reaky wrote: Mon Sep 15, 2025 7:07 pmPresumably another Criterion P&P that will be squashed by ITV in the UK (as with AMOLAD).
Luckily I did manage to see this when The Film Foundation screened it online a couple of years ago, but I would love to own it and watch it again, so will either have to import the inevitable Imprint release or this one (will have to wait and see if the extras would be playable on my RB player though, otherwise it'd just be the 4K disc).
