Pacific Heights is wonderful trash, the perfect laundry-day thriller. As a Morgan Creek title, I'm not surprised that its theatrical distribution was through Fox, its DVD was Warner, and now it's going to be a Sony Blu. Maybe Disney can revive Hollywood Pictures for its UHD in a few years.

Count Three and Pray (1955)
Major League II (1994)
Major League: Back to the Minors (1998)
Skatetown U.S.A. (1979)
Skatetown U.S.A. never got a DVD release in the US because of music rights issues, but it looks like Sony may have cleared most (or perhaps all) music for this release.
Count Three and Pray also never had a DVD release, I believe.

Count Three and Pray only ever aired on TCM in a cropped fullscreen print from the 'Scope, so there's been no circulating copy in the correct aspect ratio. I'm excited to finally see it, though Joanne Woodward in Tobacco Road mode means I should probably set my expectations astronomically low

One of those movies you could have sworn was already out on Blu-ray, the Whole Nine Yards, is coming next month, as is 3000 Miles to Graceland

Jawbreaker (1999) as well, which was previously licensed to Mill Creek.

December 17th Blu-rays:
Look Who's Talking (with a new commentary by Amy Heckerling)
David Mamet's Heist (theatrical trailer)

I initially read that post as a dry joke. What an odd pair, and of course Heist is the film not to get a commentary.

I really enjoy Heist and I'm excited to rewatch it on HD after rewatching House of Games earlier this week. My last viewing of Heist was a few months ago on VHS, so this will be an improvement for sure. I'm confused as to why Sony is releasing it. Is it another issue with Morgan Creek titles? It opens up with the Warner logo in black and white and with the old fanfare.

Yeah, Heist is a Morgan Creek title.

So pumped for Heist, though I kinda figured it was only a matter of time. My favorite Mamet and one of my favorites in general

Very excited about Heist. I've only seen it once, on IFC about 16 or 17 years ago, but even with just that one viewing I cannot tell you the number of times I have told other people about it and the fact that it has 3 of the best quotes in cinema history.
1. "Everybody needs money, that's why they call it money"
2. "My motherfucker's so cool, when he goes to sleep, sheep count him"
3. "I don't want you as quiet as an ant pissing on cotton. I want you as quiet as an ant not even thinking about pissing on cotton"

I work in business development for a government agency, which is a bit oxymoronic. Anyway, I have several times used quote #1 during meetings, and sadly not one person has gotten the reference in my 14 years at this job.

Amazing that one of the highest-grossing comedies of the late-80's like Look Who's Talking never received a Blu release until now (and we're still waiting on 3 Men & A Baby, which was the highest-grossing film of 1987!). It'll be nice to get rid of that ancient, non-anamorphic DVD from the earliest days of the format.

Interesting choices. Yet another TT title getting reissued elsewhere.

Same, though I'm not sure if it's entirely in Indicator's wheelhouse. Could definitely see Eureka releasing it in the Classics line or Arrow Academy though.

It's BAFFLING what totally forgotten studio flicks get deigned a Blu-Ray release, when we're still waiting for proper HD restorations of major box office hits like The Abyss and True Lies. Who has thought of Trial By Jury once in the last quarter-century...?

I imagine those titles are not available because Cameron wants to oversee them and Fox is honoring that request on account of the Avatar sequels.

It almost certainly isn't a request but a contractual obligation that Cameron is to be involved in and approve home video releases.

Cameron said
last year that they were waiting for his signoff, but it would require "28 hours" of his time (an oddly specific number, but then he should know) and "I don't have 28 hours." He'd hoped to do it by the end of 2018, but with the
Avatar sequels on the way I doubt it actually happened. If it had been up to Fox alone they probably would've been out a decade ago.
