As The Weinstein Company continues to evacuate its bowels,
studios have begun aggressively courting Tarantino for the rights to this film. In response to the
Hateful Eight kerfuffle, the only viewable copy of the script is being held at his agent's office, with some executives making offers sight unseen.

Glad to hear it won’t be entangled.

I don't want to get my hopes up too much, but this sounds like it could be something more like what he did in the 90's instead of yet another grindhouse pastiche.

Casting rumors have encircled literally everyone you can possibly imagine, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Tom Cruise (not for the same part; apparently, all of them at once). Personally, I'd rather DiCaprio and Cruise spend their time getting films made that wouldn't get done without having them in it, but I honestly can't remember a film that garnered so much attention from absolutely everyone in the business for even cameo parts.

Walton Goggins is being thrown about and as I quite enjoyed him in The Hateful Eight (Not a controversial statement right?) I'd love to see him work with Tarantino again. I imagine we'll see Samuel L. Jackson too.

The last time he made a film.

I think he'll discover that no longer working for youknowwho will open up him up to a lot of opportunities casting-wise and in other ways he might have been limited to before.

I hope Paramount gets this. They've been struggling for awhile now, and this would fit right in with their most recent critical successes.

Plus it would mean Tarantino would be one step closer to making Star Trek.

Given Tarantino's propensity for interesting and intriguing soundtracks, I wouldn't be surprised this was considered:

Their first two records are stellar. Would love Tarantino to use this.

I can't think of any group less likely to appear in a Tarantino film than Boards of Canada

I said considered and, I'll make this clear, I knew it was a very long shot.

They're more likely to play "1969" by The Stooges if anything and even that would be dumb. Anyway, will this be the film that finally gives Margot Robbie's feet a close-up?

Even dumber but still imaginable: the Stooges 1970 plays over the end credits

Nice to see the mods are in the know on the 69' meme.
Anyway I'm much more excited he's doing a slice of life from this era and not focusing on Manson specifically. I'm quite honestly most excited to see what he does with his hallmarks in the very much changing world of 1969.

I thought “nice” was what we say after “69,” not “heh heh.”
