"Last Year at Marienbad" and "Wings of Desire" BD's (the only Criterions I ordered long distance besides "Diary of a Country Priest," which came almost immediately) arrived this week in the mail.

My copy of Night Train to Munich has still not arrived from the B&N sale. I ordered it on Jul. 20th.

Yet again a B&N errand boy delivers to my workplace an order I placed online; wish the B&N website would allow me to just do local pick-up of online purchases so I could go over to a store and get it over sooner. Oh well, Josef Von Sternberg is in da house!

DeepDiscountDVD.com is located in Itasca IL. DVDPlanet is located in Itasca. Same company?

I think they're both owned by the same company. I remember looking into it years ago.

is anyone else having problems of getting their copy of The Thin Red Line blu-ray dispatched? I pre-ordered it at playusa.com but it still hasn`t shipped. I checked on a few other sites and all of them have it on backorder. Is Criterion having problems of getting it to them?

Maybe it's just playusa. I ordered my copy September 30th from axelmusic, and it shipped the same day.

Had my copy from playusa for over a week so presumably they sold their first batch of copies faster than they anticipated.

The Postman delivered "The Thin Red Line", "Mystery Train", and "Breathless" (all in BR) in the morning.
I am happy. The only film i am not sure about is 'Mystery Train". I saw it a long, long, long time ago
on SBS (Australia), and all i remember is the two japanese characters sitting on the floor in a hotel.
The package was delivered from amazon and unfortunately the person decided that no need for any
protection (eg. bubble rap) was necessary. And we know what sort of package format that Breathless
comes in. There was no major damage, and over time those blemishes would occur naturally, but it
would have been nice if some effort was put into how Amazon packages their deliveries so that when
you opened the box everything would be nice and crisp. Don't get me wrong, it's not that Amazon
does it all the time, somethimes the CD/DVD/BR's are very well protected, but i get a scense that
some people there know what they are doing and others don't, so its a bit of a lottery who you get.
Later on when i was at the shops i noticed a Blu-ray of "Salo", which i purchased. But that's another
tale for another place.

The first of my B&N Sale purchases arrived today.
Bigger Than Life. Ordered on 11th Nov. It only took 19 days to arrive here in Australia.
The interesting thing is that i ordered Berlin Alex. on the 3rd of Nov, and it still hasn't arrived.
Ordering on-line is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but is suxs that you have to wait for days/weeks/months
to arrive on your door step unlike shopping instore where you look, touch, pay and it's yours in minutes - instant
gratification is satisfied.

Same here (Europe), ordered the
Rebel Samurai set on November 2nd (shipped a day later), received
Antichrist (shipping date 11th of November) a week ago, and still waiting for the "Sixties Swordplay Classics" to arrive. Irritating, to say the least.

'Dazed and Confused', ordered as part of the Amazon Black Friday sale. My money was debited on Monday (here - Australia)/Sunday (there - US) and a shipping notice came later in the day. Less than 48 hours later, it and four other items from my order were in my hands. That was with my usual 'as cheap as it gets' shipping. No idea how that happened (by contrast, I also received a box of items from the Amazon Halloween sale today).
Meanwhile, still none of my Barnes and Noble orders have arrived (and two thirds of them haven't even shipped), but I'm going to focus on today's happy surprise instead for a while.

Was that with their standard shipping??
I had one order ship 17 Nov, and another on 5 Dec. So I should expect another week or 2 wait for my first one, and won't expect my 2nd one until the new year! Disappointingly slow shipping...
