His influence went beyond Doctor Who - he wrote episodes of several TV series (as widely apart as The Avengers and Crossroads), and was script editor on the BBC Classic Serials during the 1980s, two favourites of mine being an extremely faithful The Hound of the Baskervilles with Tom Baker as Holmes and a great adaptation of The Invisible Man.
Two of her best films are on TCM this Sunday: Bunny Lake Is Missing at 8 PM ET; and Blue Denim at 10 PM ET.Dylan wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2019 3:31 am The extraordinary Carol Lynley, who gave so many wonderful performances.

I don’t have much experience with Mr. Frank’s work but I can attest to Candy Mountain being a great film. I found it on VHS in a thrift store and took the 99¢ plunge. And what I got wound up becoming a dear personal favorite; a beautifully made, sweet little treat of a film. I wish it could find its way to disc and reach a wider audience.hearthesilence wrote: Tue Sep 10, 2019 10:52 pmNew York Times feature obituary
Jim Hoberman's Village Voice feature "Robert Frank's Real America"
and Candy Mountain is a wonderful little film, worth hunting for. It usually pops up on YouTube but in recent years it's been screened in 35mm around NYC. Hopefully a Frank retrospective at Film Forum or Anthology is coming soon.
Wow. I didn't think he was 75. He was the same age as many of the 1960 rockers.
Me neither. Most A or B-level rockers circa 1978 (when the Cars' debut was released) were well past their best years by the time they hit 34 (Ocasek's age at the time).FrauBlucher wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2019 1:47 pmWow. I didn't think he was 75. He was the same age as many of the 1960 rockers.
Loved him as a kid... I’d like to think he and Benjamin Orr are playing together again.
What a loss, truly one of the greatest songwriters ever. I can't even think of a shortlist of songs to link he was so prolific and consistently sublime.
