It's an excellent film. Hill got less confident as a stylist in the 1990s—the handheld camerawork hasn't dated all that well—but he tells the heck out of a great story. All the actors are obviously having a ton of fun. And it's certainly the only American movie to take place entirely in Fort Smith, Arkansas and East Saint Louis, Illinois.

It won't happen, but I'd love to see Trespass with its original John Zorn score (which was commercially released) and alternate ending.
Fingers crossed that its spiritual brother Judgment Night is on the horizon, too

Is there a scene in this film where Michael Keaton goes with some housewives in a strip club and they're watching a male stripper?
I had seen this scene only on TV many years ago, but I don't know if it's from this movie.

Kino's MisterLime is strongly suggesting that another label got the rights from MGM to do new editions of The Silence of the Lambs and Misery. Shout seems the most logical landing place.

Misery? Maybe...
But if Mr.Lime is accurate and MGM has licensed Silence of the Lambs to a third party label; it's probably Criterion. When filmstruck launched a lot of people pointed out that Silence of the Lambs was streaming on the Criterion channel and there was minor speculation that it may be coming back to the collection.

Criterion said they were offered it a ways back but didn't feel it would be much better than the extant release - now there's a 4K restoration, that isn't true anymore so I expect that's where it's ended up.

Well, Criterion also has Masque of the Red Death streaming with the Criterion brand on filmstruck and that was a former Scream title.
As for Misery...
It depends if you think the henge from last year's New Year's clue was for Spinal Tap and the S bride with the floral crown on it's own could be for Princess Bride from this year's tease. They may also have picked up Misery and have a bunch Reiner stuff in the pipeline. Might as well grab all three?

are you talking about
Silence of the Lambs?
I'm so looking forward to a 4K scan of this.
I haven't seen the film for years, because I'm waiting for a new bluray.

Yeah, MisterLime directly said that MGM took offers on a new 4K restoration's release and they were outbid.

FWIW, there are bits of scenes from Silence Of The Lambs in a couple of the new features Shout! made for Manhunter.

Ah great, thanks!
I thought in this movie he was gay and they were trying to help him accept his sexuality!

I haven't seen it since I was 8 or so, so that might have flown above my head. I thought he was just seeing how housewives "really" acted while their husbands were at work.

Are there ever deals on Shout/Scream titles similar to Criterion's bi-annual flash sale? Or even through another vendor a la B&N's bi-annual 50% sale?

Scream usually has a few sales on select titles each year. (I think they do one around Valentines Day, one in the Summer and one in October, but you should
sign up to their newsletter if you want to know when they are having sales.)
I can't think of any annual retailer sales except in October Amazon usually has some Scream titles at a good discount.

Scream/Shout's own internal sales are notorious jokes. Your best bet is a DD sale overlapping with a coupon
