I'd actually never eaten there before and was surprised to learn that there was a location like two minutes away from my work, so this was definitely a joke that paid off for me bigtime.

Anyone named Mike from New Jersey who calls it a "sub" is no friend of mine.

Exactly. The only part of New Jersey that counts.

I am pretty fond of Asbury Park. I just won't make the mistake of buying a sandwich there.

North Jersey native. Been getting this from South Jersey people my whole life. The only thing North and South agree on is Central Jersey doesn't count.

I regret to inform you that you are just a weird extension of NYC for the most part.

The guy from PriceWaterhouse who caused this whole mess
pitched an on-camera skit for the ceremony to Kimmel and was turned down

To be fair, South Jersey is just a weird extension of Philadelphia for the most part.

He raised his voice, snatched the card out of Beatty's hand, the way he held it up - the guy was clearly p-o'd (again understandably so).
Being pissed off with how crap the non-awardees were handling the situation is different from being pissed at not winning.
Seems pretty clear the PwC two weren't fit for the role they were performing. This Jason Horowitz pretty much rescued the entire affair.
I was actually surprised to see Horowitz being called a hero because the impression I got was he was kind of rude, he was not the host or the presenter to announce the flub, he took the card from Beatty's hand and said "This is not a joke! Come up here!" I actually thought he should've let somebody else announce what happened and then reveal the real winner, instead of that mess when everybody just thought he was pulling a prank and best picture was revealed with a "Moonlight, you guys won best picture!" But I guess it's the type of situation when you do it before thinking.

Not to re-re-relitigate all this, but the problem was that nobody official was correcting the mistake. Another guy even got to give his acceptance speech after the error was realised. Plus, the announced winner actually taking charge and showing the evidence was - though not by design - the most definitive way to demonstrate that this was not all just some messy prank or "conspiracy." The fallout has already been pretty tedious, but can you imagine how much more tedious all the conspiracy theories would have been if everybody had been mysteriously whisked off stage and they started the presentation over with a different outcome, or if nobody had waggled that card at the camera. None of this makes anybody a hero, but Hollywood, the modern press and celebrity gawkers are always going to resolve things into simplistic binaries.

I'm imagining the insane conspiracy theory of what would have happened in the event La La Land had won, but Beatty was still handed Stone's card - surely someone would have realized he had the wrong card on Twitter by zooming in, starting a theory they announced the wrong winner? Would AMPAS have even realized a mistake?

For the same of completeness, "Grinder" and "Po' Boy" should each be added to the roll call.

Always thought hoagie was a Pennsylvania thing (I think they say pop too), so not surprised it's invaded South Jersey. But definitely subs in Central and North Jersey. In 2010, Obama stopped at Tastee Subs in my hometown, touting some small biz initiative ahead of the midterm elections. Obama chatted with some local small biz owners and got half a Super Sub to go ...
