TT titles are also sold through the TCM store. Perhaps there will hope for discounted releases yet.
TCM buys from Screen Archives. TT sells only through one retailer, Screen Archives.

Anyone who follows TT on FB have specifics on exactly what date/time the next batch of pre-orders goes up? The vague approximately 20ish days before street date indicator on the Screen Archives site would appear to place this smack in the middle of holiday travel season. And I don't want to get screwed out of Crimes and Misdemeanors simply because I wasn't paying adequate attention.

It's not a horror movie so it won't sell out immediately

"Pre-Order date for our 4 January titles, ZULU, KHARTOUM, TITUS, and MAN IN THE DARK 3-D, will be Thursday, December 26th at 4 pm EST"

Crimes And Misdemeanors is releasing in February, so the preorder will be in January. They haven't announced a date yet.

I think TT have indicated they may upgrade Stagecoach at some point.

From TT's Facebook page
There are fewer than 400 copies remaining of The Golden Voyage of Sinbad and less than 700 copies remaining of Sinbad & I of the Tiger

Yuck. Absolutely hideous - that tree looks like a tornado, the out of focus background trees look like a sky full of pollution. Is this another post-apocalyptic film?

The original poster - which uses this scene as the main image - would've made a great cover:

Actually, even better would've been another poster from this movie:

I just saw Picnic for the first time last night, and I found it very touching and really gorgeous, even if Rosalind Russell was a little too much off in her own world. I had totally forgotten that Twilight Time released this on blu-ray, but I went ahead and ordered it. Looking at DVDbeaver, the image seems a whole lot crisper and more lush than on the dvd in the "Kim Novak Collection."

Bad news for those of us who were considering biting the bullet on Titus: it's apparently taken from a very dated master. Keep on raising that bar, Twilight Time!

All they've ever done is take what they're offered by the studios or reject it.

Not that I value the opinion of Blu-ray.com posters in either case, but as a contrast the general opinion of the Khartoum transfer over there is that it's Lawrence of Arabia level good.

Speaking of which...

I am not a huge supporter of TT. I only own one of their blu rays, Leave Her to Heaven. Mainly because most of the stuff they've released has not been of interest to me. I am thankful for that because of the high price and lack of supplements. But I am very much interested in Crimes and Misdemeanors which pre-orders Wednesday. Of course this will be as barebones as barebones gets, although I guess some kind of isolated soundtrack will accompany the film. How many of you folks plan on ordering this? I will probably bite the bullet and order this myself.

BTW...Going forward the only film I would be interesting in buying from them if they do release it would be The Ox Bow Incident, which they've suggested on their FB page as something they would like to release.

I'll pick up the Allens-- they're on par price-wise what I'd pay for the Danish(?) Miramax Allen titles that made it to Blu-ray, so I can justify the hit a bit

Screencaps for Titus

Looks terrible...can't be much (if any) improvement from the DVD.

Definitely getting Crimes and Misdemeanors and Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, two titles I'd be way happier to have seen from Criterion. But, whatever, it's better than nothing. I might even throw in Khartoum after the raves the transfer has gotten.
