Eureka sale with M. Antonioni pre-orders.
Nice! The Antonionis are at the same price as amazon, but without the shipping costs and the little extra that amazon adds to make up for the differences in VAT between the UK and Germany. Ordered!

Plus I'll bet you get them sooner from Eureka.

Pity Toni wasn't on sale this time.

The Antonionis are Region B, because licensors in general think this is a good thing. It's our least favourite part of what we do, and we can't recommend multi-region Blu-ray players enough.

Ah, thank you. I'm saving up for a multi-region player just so I can enjoy these great MoC blus!

I guess one of the benefits of these dual format releases is that even if you don't currently have a region-free BD player, you can probably still play the DVD.

For UK customers Zavvi looks the cheapest: Le Amiche and La Signora senza Camelie are both £14.45. With discount code ZTENLTD, the price is going to be £13.

I am interested in purchasing the MoC release of Dreyer's Michael. I live in the US and usually look to Amazon.co.uk for my MoCs, but it appears out if print on that website. Is this release out if print? Is there another website someone can recommend for me to find this release? Any help is appreciated!

It is OOP. Ebay might have a few spare copies lying around.

Good luck trying to find a copy of Michael. I've been after one for a couple of months now but short of paying £45 on Amazon can't get one anywhere...

L'enfance-nui is the only Pialat I've seen - and it was grand. Am tempted to pick up more of these, but have to ask the obligatory question -
Did these sell? Is there any danger of them appearing on blu anytime soon?

I hope MoC steps up and answer this themselves, but my speculation is that the existing transfers (everything on these discs was drawn from the two huge Gaumont sets released several years ago) were not up to snuff for HD, so probably not. Circumstantial evidence: the new transfer Criterion did for their release of
L'Enfance nue - and even that wasn't released on BluRay.

They did not sell anywhere near enough to warrant a Blu-ray release, I'm afraid. At this point in time, I can't see us ever upgrading any of our existing Pialat releases to Blu-ray. Our time would be better spent on titles that have not been released in the UK before.

Is there any hope for MoC editions of Van Gogh and Loulou now that they're out of print from Artificial Eye? The latter can still be had for an alright price (I guess), but I'll hold off if there's a possibility you guys will release them?

It would be neat, and we love the films. I won't rule it out but there's absolutely nothing on our griddle for these two at the moment.

Thanks for the honest answer, Nick. I'll research them and pick a few up!

The Antonionis have been posted to those ordering directly from Eureka, and dropped onto my doormat this morning. Lovely productions, as ever.

Received the Antonionis today, here in Norway. Did anyone else's La Signora sensa Camelie booklet come with some loose pages? Specifically, the sheet with the Albert Lynch illustration and some stills. Apart from that: wow. Just saw Camelie. Lovely film, and a great overall package. I like the new covers as well.

I haven´t recieved my copy of La Signora sensa Camelie yet but I got a few loose pages in my La signora di tutti booklet, pages 17-28 to be precise.

Received both Antonionis today and all pages are firmly fixed. The booklets look great, though I think I'll never get used to that small-size blu format.
And to the mods: we need to have a dedicated thread for discussing these Antonionis, please.

My booklets for both releases have no loose pages either. And while they're lovely I'd still opt for a DVD style case release with a bigger booklet any day.
