to clarify, Criterion had a Laser disc web site, for DVD and most people in 1998, yes.

It's like having the receptionist from Being John Malkovich posting on our site.

I'm just trying to answer a person's question... as I like my questions answered.
If you think my posts are not helpful then you should re-phrase them so they are helpful instead of just being a dick.
I'm sorry that I don't write in a way that makes you happy.

Tenenbaums blu, Quadrophenia, Weekend, Lonesome, Rosetta, La Promesse, and an eclipse of films by Norman Mailer (who knew?)

This is the first time I've actually been surprised by the releases and cover art in a while.
The Mailer set's title is odd, though, not like their usual Eclipse sets. Might as well say "Maidstone and two films we threw on to make it a set"

Excited for Quadrophenia, and looking forward to what this "uncut" version is and what is added that wasn't on my old VHS, if anything? Definitely getting that and Lonesome, very awesome.

Lonesome lists the silent version of The Last Performance (1929) and the "reconstructed" sound version of Broadway (1929) in its bonus.

Strongest month this year yet: Weekend is an excellent film and I'm chuffed to see it included in the collection (time to sell the very solid UK BD), Lonesome and La Promesse are must-haves (I didn't care for Rosetta).

Which, technically, is titled

The Royal Tenenbaums Blu pushes it over the top for me. My favorite WA film.

Quadrophenia and Lonesome also come with commentaries. Woo

Lonesome looks poised to be the release of the year. The Dardennes seem a little light on extras but it will be great to have them on Blu-ray anyway. La promesse is one of my all-time faves.

Surprised by the $40 MSRP on those considering the light extras.

It's a nice month, but Fox stole the thunder with its amazing Margaret news

The Foundas conversation will likely be of substantial length, right? I would have to think that's our significant supplement there.

Pretty good month overall, but something just came to thought that could be a little bit of a downer for me. Does everyone remember the picture that Criterion posted on Facebook months ago, the one that showed a list of titles barely visible that they were working on for 2012? Well, one of those titles that people saw was "Mahler," the Ken Russell film that I've been anxiously awaiting ever since. Since this month saw an Eclipse set of films by Norman Mailer, was there a chance that the word "Mailer" is what everyone saw instead of "Mahler"?

Glad to see Tenenbaums Blu-ray. Not that I have that I'm interested, but it will keep some whiners shut for a while.

I'm disappointed by the lack of Tough Guys Don't Dance in the Mailer set.

Yeah, who was whining about this not being out yet?
