It's a StudioCanal title and it's out of print, so yes, it's safe to say that Criterion no longer has the rights.

They just finished watching the World Cup. Now they're scrambling to try to post before the next game starts...

To be fair, September is historically a big month for Criterion. To be unfair, where's our goddamn announcements

Wasn't planning on double-dipping for The Innocents but a 4K resto? Count me in. Eraserhead, The Innocents and Ali Fear Eats the Soul, not sure yet about Macbeth (which I've only seen once and liked but whether I need to own it?).

The Blu-Ray of Sundays and Cybele is 39.99, but the DVD is only 24.99. Don't know if that's a mistake for the time being.

Was really hoping for the Tati box set. Not a bad month, but nothing I can't wait out for a sale for.

Re: Forthcoming Lists Discussion and Random Speculation Vol.
I appreciate the broad thematic unities between the four main titles this month (horror/mental illness and instability), but as a September slate I agree that this is kind of dull.

Maybe if we wish really hard, a box set will appear.

Any month where I can finally start upgrading my Fassbinder dvd collection to blu-ray is a good month to me.

They're probably going to hold off on that until a November/December release, just in time for the holidays.captveg wrote:Was really hoping for the Tati box set. Not a bad month, but nothing I can't wait out for a sale for.

I guess I should wait and see just what "New and archival interviews" will be included, but that Eraserhead package is sort of disappointing after all this time. Glad for the new transfer, but everything else was available on the Japanese blu.

Re: Forthcoming Lists Discussion and Random Speculation Vol.
well WCF v2 will probably be in December. And that probably means the Tati box is in November, like you say. I was hoping they'd do the apu trilogy or decalogue in november and the Tati box now.Yaanu wrote:They're probably going to hold off on that until a November/December release, just in time for the holidays.captveg wrote:Was really hoping for the Tati box set. I wonder if they'll upgrade any of the DVD sets this year, like they upgraded the cassavetes set last year?

I'm commenting on upgrading my Fassbinder collection, not really concerned over the amount of upgrades. Sorry for my excitement?domino harvey wrote:Any month where only one title gets upgraded is not a good month for anyoneSpiderBaby wrote:Any month where I can finally start upgrading my Fassbinder dvd collection to blu-ray is a good month to me.
