Yes, there are product pages, but I meant that it's strange that it's not possible to preorder any of these via Amazon 1–2 weeks before street date. I also found the new WAC release of A Star Is Born (1954) buried under several older import Blu-rays of the film and it also is listed as "unavailable."
April titles like Summer Stock and Frankenstein 1970 are out of stock and showing as "usually ships within 1 to 3 months." The Glass Bottom Boat from March, "usually ships within 1 to 2 months."

Amazon has been really bad lately at having stock of Sony and Universal MOD titles, too, so I think it's more likely they just aren't getting the stock from Allied Vaughn the same as they used to.

Does anyone know if this new WAC amaray-edition retains the second disk of DVD extras that is found on the digipack blu released in 2010?
Thanks

June announcements are apparently happening today.
Jonny Quest: The Complete Original Series (1964-1965) - 26 Episodes on 3 Discs
None But the Brave (1965)
Popeye the Sailor: The 1940s, Volume 2 (1946-1947) - 15 Shorts
Probably a couple more to come

A Hanna-Barbera cartoon on Blu-ray feels like actual trolling from WA at this point

Oops, they announced a good movie by mistake. Will contain the British version in SD (was on the flip side of the original pressed disc)

Are you sure it's the film and that they're not verbing us
All kidding aside maybe this is sign we'll see more 40s and earlier B&Ws.

Glad I waited a bit to revisit this one for the 40s thread. I'm trying to do the same with other dvd-only-so-far releases that stand a decent chance of being released until November.

Here's hoping Gaslight's "NEW 2019 1080p HD MASTER FROM 4K SCAN!" looks better than what's on the CC right now.
Happy as I am for this to finally get a release, I'm still a little sad it isn't one that Criterion picked up. It would've been nice to get an extra about the titular term's rise in public discourse, and something about Cukor as dramatist, since the only Criterion Cukor so far is a comedy and this seems the drama of his that would be the most likely to get picked up.

It was on TCM not long ago and it looked quite beautiful. I’m sure the blu will be outstanding

I wonder why that's not the one on the Channel, then... Or is it and I can just blame streaming compression?

They'll probably continue to mix it up. Gaslight's a pretty natural choice for them.

You're referring to the cover? It's the same as the DVD.

So much for hoping for the entire series to be upgraded.

I imagine they'll do additional films if it sells well, kinda like the Popeye shorts situation.

It’ll be curious to see how this looks. Isn’t this one of those titles where the source material is not the best. Warner may have spent a fortune on the restoration which might explain this getting a release only in the series.

Any idea how 42nd Street sold?

As I recall, Warners initial the Thin Man DVD set was one of their biggest sellers and was partly responsible for Warners going so hard on the box set model for years afterwards. We are truly in different times if now we get a full set of those awful 70s celebrity Scooby Doo cartoons on retail Blu-Ray but this gets a single title Archive release

I suppose the perennial truth of the situation is to never underestimate the selling power of a cute crime-solving dog!
