Update: Criterion is continuing to add titles, including: Le Notti Bianche, Scanners, and Il Sorpasso. At this rate, who knows what could be up by the end of the day.

This is wonderful news. I was beginning to worry after we hadn't gotten many new additions in a while.

I know it's only a difference of two little words, but I much prefer the ring of "Where Is the Friend's Home?"

Er, I mean, maybe now Criterion will release this soon! Wonderful news!

Pretty fantastic--and I've never heard of the Jascha Heifetz Master Class Series before.

It also makes more thematic sense at least according to the explanation given on this board.

Godard and Truffaut's Une Histoire d'eau has been added to Hulu.

Will Criterion ever manage to strike a deal where films licensed from major studios can be added to their Hulu channel? Or is that just wishful thinking? I also wonder if in certain cases the absence of a certain film on Hulu can be attributed to their simply not having gotten around to it yet, like with 8 1/2, Hiroshima, Mon Amour, and The Bicycle Thief.

Has anyone with Hulu watched this yet? Is the quality any better than what's already out there?

Last night I tried watching I Married a Witch on Hulu, but the quality was horrendous. Fuzzy, washed-out, bad sound... Anybody know why this is? The Blu doesn't look that bad, does it?

Wondering if they just put it up back when they got the rights to it and never updated it with the new transfer?

Looks terrific. HD, virtually no print damage. Has there ever been anything out there previously that was satisfactory?

The transfer uploaded to Hulu does not stream in high definition. Judging from the first few minutes, the film doesn't look like the same transfer included on the pristine Blu-ray. However, this makes sense. Not all films uploaded to Hulu stream in HD. I believe Criterion intentionally leaves a lot of films non-HD to incentivize DVD and Blu-ray purchases. After all, Criterion followers are the snootiest film fans (as we should be) when it comes to audio and video quality.

Yeah, I'm sure you're right. And their strategy worked, because I'll probably pick it up during the sale!

It may cover some days in Dec, I guess. That has happened in the past.

Fandor has added a small selection of Criterion Collection films to their lineup as "Criterion Picks." https://www.fandor.com/films/recent#

Sanders of the River
The Four Feathers
The Gold Rush
Woman in the Dunes
Letter Never Sent
Burden of Dreams
Wages of Fear

This is interesting because I thought Hulu had exclusive rights to these.

Fandor Strikes Deal with Hulu to Stream Criterion Collection Classics

It is interesting that Criterion isn't even mentioned as part of the negotiations.

Anyone know if there is rhyme or reason to the Hulu upload schedule? Looks like nothing new since Watership Down, Scanners, etc...
