The Australlian / New Zealand ratings are gargantuan compared to the British ones also, so thankful we have what we have. Saying that, I have as many R4's where the rating information is printed on a sticker as printed on the artwork (though taking these off is a gamble in not removing a chunk of the cover too) and Madman's Eastern Eye range every so often comes with a reversible sleeve, one side being sans logo. I imagine both of these alternatives would eat into the MOC budget somewhat though.

MoC has done reversible sleeves a few times, generally when there are two movies included in the package- I always love it when they do, but I don't know that it would make sense to default to that.

I think so, yes. It`s per item. If I want to order 3 items (for example) you pay 7,50. that`s a lot. Why not give the opportunity to have items ship all at once like amazon does so that it becomes cheaper?

I don't know if it's a common problem with them, but the only one I ever bought (simply because it was the cheapest option at the time) gripped the discs so tightly it was impossible to remove them without severely bending and probably breaking them and I had to transfer the discs to a blank standard case, but of course there was no paper sleeve liner to transfer.

For me, the only requirement of packaging - beyond displaying the title on the spine and a few other factual details like running time - is to protect the discs and allow easy removal and insertion of them. I increasingly find a great many releases, even on prestigious labels, fall short of my simple need, especially with the widespread adoption of figure 8 type packaging with overlapping discs. I don't know whether MoC still use them for two-disc DVD sets but the first thing I do now with new Criterions like that is bin the figure 8 case - it holds the discs too tightly and makes access to the underlying disc inconvenient at best.

If you put the case down on your couch / bed / pillow etc and press down on the centre of the disc holding latch that way, they usually pop right out (or just a gentle lift to the disc) with no stress to the disc or casing. It's not ideal, granted, but it at least means no damage to the disc and reduces the stress of having to actually go through with the whole ordeal. I found this trick out after going through 2 copies of The Singing Detective way back when with its dual figure of 8 set up and vice grip of death holding each disc.

I think he meant the way it's an accent grave (`) rather than an actual apostrophe ('). I sometimes see that done and have wondered what it's about (no disapproval implied). Probably just different keyboard muscle-memory habits.

Speaking from experience, it could very possibly be because his current keyboard configuration doesn't support an actual apostrophe ('). Or he hasn't found it. Both of which are perfectly valid excuses.

It doesn't bother me as I'm only going to order one item anyway. HMV is the best exclusive option for me. Play.com does not ship to Estonia, Amazon.co.uk wants £4.30 for shipping one item (and I'd have to order at least 4 items to get the shipping per item below HMV's £2.50). Only TheHutGroup stores would be better (free shipping, 10% off coupons every now and then) but I'm not sure if they do these exclusive deals. So if Eureka wants to do another exclusive deal I hope it will be HMV again (and not Play.com).

it doesn't have anything to do with the configuration, it`s more a habit that I use that accent grave instead of the apostrophe.

I don't suppose anyone would like to swap their thin case versions of Kwaidan, Edvard Munch or Tabu for my thick case versions? Not the disks of course - just the cases/sleeves?

I'm trying to save shelf space and obviously the easiest thing would be to just put them into thin cases but then of course the sleeves wouldn't fit!

When I was at the Sarajevo Film Festival, I had to use a Croatian keyboard and I never did find the apostrophe. Or the '@' sign, come to that - I had to cut and paste it whenever I wanted to send an email.

Jesus, is there a bad cover in the bunch? I'd love to see the Imamura without the sticker, but broadly they all look fantastic. Criterion's being put to shame in this department at least.
